Blood-soaked succession back on Hiatus (Patreon)

So. My consistent updates on BSS went over about as well as a wet fart in church. Zero traction, no new patrons that I know of, and no new commissions. So, I'll be going back to focusing on commissions and letting you guys vote on which story I update each month.

I'll be posting a poll soon, and whatever you guys vote for is what I'll write a chapter for during September. You can also still just shoot me 100 bucks to update one of my hiatus fanfics and justify the time. But I'm at the point now where my regular commission clients can fund my lean lifestyle, so that's where most of my writing time should be going. Believe it or not, this was kind of a vacation.

Likewise, I should warn you guys that I may be quitting fanfiction entirely come January. I'm going to be moving more heavily into my original projects, and there just isn't much ROI in writing fanfiction anymore. It was fine when it was just an outlet while I hitchhiked or traveled doing vanlife in my 20s. But I'm in my 30s now. Worse yet, most social interactions are just bots offering me AI art. The best return on writing, beating even the money, was the community, and that's just gone. I think the real people abandoned ship after the Dead Internet took over.

If I do call it quits, I won't just abandon everything without telling you where it was going. I'll publish the overarching story outlines for the fics that actually have them so that anybody interested can adopt them and finish the stories themselves. The obvious exceptions are Marauding Champions, MKNB and the other seat-of-my-pants projects where there simply isn't an overarching outline to publish. I just have fun writing them.
