As an American. This video makes me realize how nuch more common grid power outages must be here in the US.

Frizz

How common is common in the US? Just out of curiosity, I’m in Scotland and I go years without power outages, only normally in heavy storms might it be effected

also i will say with anne, she's trying to find herself. i think it's implied she and andy kind of had a pam and roy thing, where they were together a very long time and she was kind of held back. she's trying to find herself and just have fun. i don't think they're undoing character growth, but rather giving her more. that''s just my two cents though. i love hearing your thoughts on it, and i absolutely agree, ron just shines this episode, as always lol

2 this year so far. About 5 different ones last year. Here sometimes they regularly have scheduled outages. I'm guessing to work on the grid. It's even common in my work from home job for people to miss days because of outages haha. Apparently the grids in the US suck.

I'm in Wisconsin. Where I live maybe 1 or 2 a year. 20 miles away at my parents house they can get them about 8 times a year. Some last for a few minutes and others a few hours.

Really depends on where you are. I lived in a city north of Boston that had one generator and is a peninsula with floods weekly. We lost power for weeks at a time just from wind. But in Boston proper, where I live now, you don't really have that issue cuz bigger cities have better technology and infrastructure

I've always wondered if it was intentional that Ann is beloved by most people in the show, while most people I know that like the show are in April's boat and sort of loath her most of the time. In the first season you see Andy as "the problem" but really, he's in a decent, loyal, emotionally intelligent relationship most of the series and Ann just sort of flies around acting stupid and making up for it by being "adorable" or being condescending....so...who's really the problem?

Jackson Potluck

Yeah. The writers really just never figured out what to do with her. She's just there to be Leslie's best friend. Which is fine. But it's really striking given how well fleshed out the other characters all are

I live in Georgia, and at least once or twice a year there's a weather-related blackout. Worst was in 2024 when Hurricane Helene came through. We were without electricity (which means no running water where I live) for 16 days.
