When I was in Model U.N., it was... way more boring than depicted in this episode, but the one notable thing my fellow representative of Angola and I got to do was yield to the floor to Australia. I don't remember AT ALL what concern I was talking about that would have led to that event (I was in a daze from actually pulling off a speech in front of ~500 people), but it was also basically the only actual country-to-country interaction I had. 95% of it was everyone sitting in chairs listening to prepared speeches.

A treaty is just any agreement between nations - trade treaties are just as if not much more common than peace treaties. And yes correct on Camp David being a presidential vacation spot - but its use in this episode refers to it also being a spot were Presidents invite other heads of state to work out complicated treaties.

Dean you were 100% correct about Camp David... I'm impressed you knew that when you don't even live here lol

I did Model UN in 10th grade but I was like the only actual weird nerd because in my school, smart kids were rich and rich kids were popular, so NATURALLY me being a weird ass nerd at 15 years old thrust into a giant fucking spotlight surrounded by popular people, I actually forgot that Israel wasn't supposed to admit they have Nukes, mostly because I was WHO for Israel, not Security Council, but I was the one who got grabbed out of a WHO meeting to go before the General Assembly, which like you said is around 500-ish people, and ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM THE SECURITY COUNCIL ABOUT ISRAEL'S NUCLEAR CAPBILITIES!!! My ass just went straight into remembering what I'd read in my research, which was mostly just facts, and I just started talking about the projected capacity of Israel's nuclear arsenal and babbled about the Nuclearn Nonproliferation Treaty and how Israel hadn't signed it, and so on and so forth. And then when I finished I got to leave the table and saw the teachers PISSED THE FUCK OFF and they chewed me out because I lost the competition for us (I didn't realize it even was a competition, tbh) because Israel had never confirmed they even had nukes, lmao. Needless to say, I quit that club after that.

Sounds like a much spicier Model UN than the milquetoast one I participated in.
