The women often cried over sick children, financial problems, & other tales of woe. The “winner” was given a robe, crown, & gifts like appliances. Clips are on YouTube.

"Sorry to you, British viewers." Dean, he's our King, too. Also, Camilla is what's known as a queen consort (i.e. wife of the reigning monarch), whereas Elizabeth was a queen regnant (i.e. a queen who reigned in her own right).
