Dick Tracy

Mrs. Veal is played by actress Ione Sky who’s probably best known for Cameron Crowe’s Say Anything. She was married to Adam Horovitz (Beastie Boys) & is currently married to Australian musician Ben Lee. She’s the daughter of folk singer-songwriter Donovan.

Franklin is a reference to the African American comedian & ventriloquist Willie Tyler & his dummy Lester. The name “Franklin” is another reference to the Peanuts comic strip. Franklin was a friend of Charlie Brown.

Harry Newburn

He's also got children all over town.

So, I’ve watched season 4 both ways, and I think I prefer the original version. Not the re-edited “Fateful consequences” version. However, I don’t know what the membership demographics are like or how people watch along with you. I know that in the US, only the “Fateful Consequences” version is streaming on Netflix. I have the original version on DVD, but if you are hoping for US members to watch along, I am guessing most people watch on Netflix, and so the re-edit may be the best route. Season 5 was more straightforward. Only one version available there.

Could be fun to do s4 twice, one version each. since this is such a layered show. But if you had to pick one, I tend to watch original cuts first to get full context/appreciation for a recut.

I'm surprised you didnt catch the very subtle meta comment about homes orders being cut back to 18 referring to the episodes. Cant remember what one maybe last episode or one before it

I don’t know what the comment about your nostrils was, Hendo. But for what it’s worth, I think you have very handsome nostrils.

I had to watch the original cut of S4 twice (before the remix ever existed) to truly grasp everything. Well, even then, it's AD so I'm sure there are little bits here and there I still missed. Don't get me wrong, I still like it over the remix.

It's been years since I've had Netflix, but I recall there being an option to choose your version of Season 4. It was just slightly hidden.

Season 4 is kind of hard to follow (good luck Sweetums aka Dean) but really comes together at the end. It's the better version. Episode 2 is kind of a slog, but again, it serves the season as a whole. The remix is easier to understand, but ruins a lot of comedic timing and joke payoffs.

So when he tells you that Veal is the last name of Anne you missed the opportunity to respond with a 'Her?'. That's a shame.

JB Die-Kasten

Imagine if some silly doofus watched these 2 episodes out of order and didn't know about your gum surgery til right now, Yyyyyep.

JB Die-Kasten

Holy crap I've been called out LOL sorry Hendo

JB Die-Kasten

Ooh someone's got beef (see what I did there?)

JB Die-Kasten

I'm still mildly shocked that Ben Lee was in a relationship with Claire Danes but that was over a decade ago iirc.

Are you talking about bland?
