Appreciate the update, hopefully all the sicknesses are short :) Would love to see reactions to Stardust (2007) which is a romantic fantasy movie but it's not too serious and Event Horizon (1997) a space horror movie with Sam Neil and Laurence Fishburne as the biggest stars.

Shane Jeffery

Thanks for the shoutout! I haven't seen anything new that's good lately. But off the top of my head, Heretic is worth watching. For TV The Shrink Next Door was amazing

I'm too poor for the movie tier here on Patreon but here are some of my favourite movies to watch others react to: Talk to Me Bring Her Back The Menu Equilibrium American Pie 1-4 View Askewniverse (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob, etc) District 9 The "Verhoeven-verse" (RoboCop, Total Recall, Starship Troopers). Appreciate the update and hope everyone is feeling better soon! PS. it would be cool if maybe in the mean time you could unlock a movie or two for us on the Gold Tier for quieter weeks like this if that's something you guys are open to.

Movie Suggestions: Sour Grapes (1998) Written & directed by Larry David; Love and Death (1975) orAnnie Hall (1977) by Woody Allen; Notorious (1946) or Rear Window (1954) by Hitchcock; The Manchurian Candidate (1962); Nashville (1975) or The Player (1992) by Robert Altman; The African Queen (1951), Murder on the Orient Express (1974); Sullivan’s Teavels (1941) or The Palm Beach Story (1942) by Preston Sturges; The Cowboys, Rio Bravo, or The Quiet Man (starring John Wayne); The Hudsucker Proxy (Coen Brothers). I’d also highly recommend “Make Way for Tomorrow” (1937) a great but incredibly sad film. Finally Whatever Works (2009) starring Larry David.

Always had a soft spot for Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985), and Pee-wee's Big Holiday (2016) was pretty fun too, although definitely less of a classic.

Dick Tracy

I’m also hearing good buzz on The Sheep Detectives (2026)

I’d love to see reactions to anything by any of these directors: Paul Thomas Anderson The Farrelly brothers Steven Soderbergh Damien Chazelle Trey Edward Shults(anything except for Hurry Up Tomorrow) Woody Allen

It's probably worth noting I never was a fan of Pee-wee's Playhouse the TV show, the kids' show, but the movies are significantly more PG-13 and are not in the same universe: zero prior knowledge required. In fact, said knowledge might even be confusing since again, it's a totally different Pee-wee timeline than the one for children and the TV show came after the first movie.

Movies: Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai Stir of Echoes The Serpent and the Rainbow Thank You For Smoking Ghost Town Candyman Side Effects Phantom of the Paradise Blow Out Rushmore The Orphanage TV: Master of None (just seasons 1&2)

Friendship is a great movie! And a great introduction to Tim Robinson's comedy style. Also hope your kids feel better.

Chair company is a great comedy drama show. Its a "horror" but really not. Another Amazing drama comedy is Wayne, its great from start to finish. A good comedy if you like arrested development is the increasingly poor decisions of todd margaret. The main characters are Tobias and job, I personally think it is as funnier than arrested development. Its a comedy but it has an amazing storyline.

kbobravo

I will second The Chair Company. I wouldn't necessarily call it light-hearted, but it's not dark like Barry, it's absurdist. The drama comes from the (not scary) horror and the whole show is ridiculous and very funny. Tim Robinson and Nathan Fielder are very different, but if you liked one, it'd be very likely you'd like the other.

kungfubrandon

Agreed they are my two favorite comedians right now. They're carrying comedy.

Good health to all. Movies: Babylon (if you haven't seen Singin' in the Rain, good to see that first) Challengers Licorice Pizza They Came Together 30 min shows - comedy/drama estimate from 0-10, Austin Powers being a 0, Scorcese's Silence a 10 : You're the Worst - 3 The Rehearsal - 4 Common Side Effects - 5 Last Man on Earth - 1 Mr. Inbetween - 6

Yes no maybe, as soon as you said short my mind went to Impulse (2010) Apocalyptic short film starring the eldest son from Malcolm in the Middle. As for features, have you checked out Companion or Novocaine? Neither are super serial but a wild ride nonetheless. Hope you're all doing well.

JB Die-Kasten

Nah District 9 is too depressing, watch Chappie instead. Ignore what every other person says

Ratj620

Oh man, I know how that is. Hope they get better soon.
