the main flaw with this season imo, some of these characters aren't leads for a reason. I like Lindsay in the context of the cast but, yeah. Several other things I want to say but spoilers!

This season is... very fast but also very slow and nothing happens? There are little connections throught the episodes. Still fun to watch though.

Yeah, this stuff is pretty rough, and a big part of why the season's very hit or miss, even in proper order. Also deceptively gave me a very bad first impression of Maria Bamford who's not that bad outside of this.

Face blindness (Prosopagnosia) is actually real. I'm not that familiar with it so I don't know how accurately it was portrayed here but the description he gave sounds about right.

I think at the time, binging a full new season was still novel. People hadn’t reverted to wanting scheduled episodes. So if you watch 4 or 5 episodes at a time, you don’t care about missing a character for 20 minutes. That’s my theory anyway. I always thought that was the joke of calling the edit “fateful consequences”

I know everyone hates the remixed series 4 episodes, but I’d be interested if you rewatched the altered season 4 after these, it’s almost like seeing everything from a different perspective.

Agreed it’s still worth watching

Ya this is where it starts to get real rough. I always thought of the original 3 season run of AD as being so amazingly tightly written due to every line somehow acting as both a punchline, and a setup to a future joke you are not yet aware of. This season feels like mostly setup to get to future punchlines, with very few actually serving as punchlines to entertain you up until then. All setup with too few jokes. Like for some of these scenes you guys are (correctly) more concerned with the background gags than the actual scenes happening and that's kind of an indication of how weak some of the moment to moment writing is.
