I'm a professional sweat-er, I've been assured many times I do not have a smell problem but that doesn't stop me worrying about it. Worst nightmare is to be one of those people that is famously stinky

British comedian Chris Ramsey won’t use any toilet unless there’s a bidet or shower available to use; apparently his wife is a saint who carries wet wipes for him in her purse if there’s a critical emergency. When I leave my house for an extended period, I turn the control on my natural gas-fired 40gal tank water heater down to the “vacation warm” mark, and shut the valve on the house side of the water authority’s meter. A few years ago I returned from a 3-week camping trip, went to the basement and opened the water valve and turned up the water heater back up to 120F. The next day I opened the basement door, heard running water and found out that sometime overnight the 20-year-old water heater’s inner tank had split and water was running across the basement to the floor drain. So I had only cold water for a couple weeks while I researched water heater brands, bought a new one at one of the big-box home stores, and contracted a plumber to pick it up and install it. Room-temperature showers are surprisingly tolerable once you get accustomed to them.
