The Uglies series being turned into movies in 2024 is causing me a lot of psychic damage because the book series was not good and did not age well. It had a lot of "not like other girls" messaging. Like the Pretties are teenagers that got state mandated plastic surgury (and were also purposely lobotomized to prevent the general public from doing any revolutions/uprising).
