Our Heroes dig deep on prestige tv and the rate we’re seeing it. Are these shows even worth it? Should we just go back to the LOST island and be done? LAME!

Fallout was the most recent “prestige” tv that caught the world on fire.

Totally agree with everything, especially Eric's theory tbh. I think every single show we watch now (and film tbh) there's a moment of 'why is it so FUCKING dark' and it's because they can't light anything anymore/rely on a green screen for everything meanwhile you go back and watch B&W films and you can see perfectly even in night scenes like. We're doing it worse!! HBO is unfortunately the closest we have even if I hate who runs it and how he treats animation, but stuff like Peacemaker and getting to look forward to seeing it every week because it's consistently Really Good all the way round is so rare anymore.

I really loved all the Game of Thrones discussion and totally agree with how poorly the last couple of seasons were handled, just left a bad taste in the mouth of an otherwise great show. Enjoying House of the Dragon so far but with S2 only being 8 episodes, it felt incomplete and took liberties in storytelling that are not in the book. Dameon wandering around Harrenhal is an example of made up plot lines for the show, S3 coming in summer 2026 and hopefully back to the Dance of Dragons. Also keep an eye out for another GoT spinoff show in early 2026, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It’s a small scale and more character driven story based on a GRRM novella, it’s a very compelling in-universe story separate from HotD and GoT plot-lines

apple tv is making some incredible shows that they just throw a rug over. it's actually insane that they do not promote their shows more. for severance i have a friend who i remote facecam with to live watch. it enhances the show so much. the social connection is important and we need these companies to understand.
