What a surprise! There's a post today after all and Slumber Party is complete now.

Here you can leave ideas for small MC script additions in Our Life: Now & Forever. There are various guidelines for what is doable, though.

To start, I can't add new features, entire new scenes, concepts that'd have to be accounted for over the whole story of the game, or anything not script-based (e.g. art/music). What I can do is add in specific choices/reactions to specific scenes to add some extra fun and make the existing content more fitting to different MC types.

There's a lot of things the MC can theoretically do/think/feel in OL2; the dynamic settings, the MC's feelings on the move and house and town and school, if they're shy or rude or amiable with different people, if they break rules or not, if they're tidy/polite or messy/rowdy, and more.

I try to remember it all, but I'm sure there are situations where I don't give certain aspects enough attention. If you feel like there's pieces missing to complete the experience, you've got a chance say so.

Basically, I'm gonna do my best to have the game reflect a wide range of responses/emotions per scene, but I want to do that without the game's actual completion being delayed by weeks, months, or years by adding more and more totally new scenes/features to it, haha.

Comments usually don't get a reply, but that doesn't mean the suggestion isn't going to be added. However, if you don't read the guidelines and request something not possible, it also might not get a comment to explain that it's not going to be added. I'm afraid it's not always possible to keep up with everything people post. So please do read the guidelines!

Guidelines:

-Suggestions are for the script. You can express an interest in new art, features, music, etc. and I'll remember that as the type of things players would want if possible based on time/budget, but anyone can do that kind of post in any place and putting it here in the suggestion thread won't give it a greater chance of being possible.

-Suggestions can only be for the content that's available for players to test. I won't be able to keep up with requests that apply to theoretical future scenes that don't exist. To go along with that, suggestions can't be to completely remake a current scene in a different way or to fit in entire new scenes in between what's there. This also applies to requesting MC elements/additions that expand over the entire game. For example, you can't request that the game should start tracking what phrases the MC tends to use and have characters comment in the future on their common phrases. Suggestions are for just the current scenes and the content that's already being tracked.

-Suggestions are for the MC and general prose. I can't do requests to change how non-playable-characters behave/speak. They are who they are.

-Suggestions must be appropriate for the age of the MC and the overall 16+ rating for the game. I can't make the 10-year-old MC act like an adult, not unless it's framed as clearly a child who is trying to pretend as if they're grown up. And I can't put in a ton of bad language or adult topics, especially in Step 1.

-Suggestions don't have to be specific, but that greatly increases how likely it is that what you want will end up in the game. For example, commenting that you'd enjoy silly options is something I can keep in mind when working on the game, but may not come through that well. Saying you'd like an option where the MC can tell a joke on a specific choice menu in a certain scene will give me a lot more context on what to do.

-Suggestions can be too specific, however. I can't use comments where the player actually writes out MC dialog/prose and would like that added word for word into the game. The goal is for me to create what players enjoy, I don't want to outsource filling in the script to other people.

There's also a channel in the private GB Patch discord for submitting suggestions, if you prefer to chat there.

And that's everything. You're welcome to mention where you think the MC could have more reactions/responses and such!

Thank you for following OL2's development 💕

Hmmm so let's say. Your doing a semi quite character playthrough. What if we get a response for let's say a serious or emotional response and we break silence to cause shock to Tam or qiu. Been playing around with it. It's fun not going to lie but that's just a idea

For Hide & Seek, could we also be able to say "Detective (insert nickname) is on the case."? Great for those MCs who prefer their nickname more than their regular name or most people call them by their nickname.

For Walks, could we also simply say 'Thank you.'? 😊 Whether it's because our character is polite, or just wants to accept winning the 'Snack King' title without acting 'in your face' or upset for winning it (aka having to pay for the snacks), it's nice to be able to have this option.

For Fancy Fun, when asked what he'd like to do and Qiu says "Dance with me!", could we also be able to respond with "Yes, please./!"? If they were just Neighbours/Friends the period would be appropriate, if they were BFFs/Crushes, the exclamation point would be the way to go. Maybe multiple '!!!' would do if they were Crushes+BFFs.

For Magic, when Qiu comes over to the MC and Tamarack in the classroom, and Tamarack asks Qiu about magic, could we be able to say "I'd like to think of music as being magical."? When Tamarack talks to the MC and Qiu about the spell, could we have the option:? '"Sure, I'll do it." You didn't believe in magic, but you were curious.' ___ For a playthrough, I chose to tell Tamarack and Qiu about the part of my MC's wish that had to do with supporting their wishes, but kept the rest (such as wanting to be with Qiu and/or Tamarack Forever, wanting Opal to be with someone she loved/to be able to have an additional parent for the MC, was left unsaid, but written among the wishes of the others. I was thinking, when the MC is alone with Tamarack (on her way to see if her wish about her Opa worked) or Qiu (in the fort), this would be a great opportunity to tell them about the part that could be left unsaid (such as wanting to be with them forever). When I got to the part of telling Qiu that I wanted to help make him happy too, and the big hug, the MC has the option of telling Qiu "Hey, I'm not going to change my wish. I want us to be together forever." Since my MC never said that part of their wish earlier, it seemed out of place to be able to say that to Qiu, without mentioning it to him while they were spending alone time together before this dialogue option came up. Besides, considering what happened when you chose on ride over the other in Walks/Wheels, our MCs may not want to find themselves hurting the one not chosen. As in if you wanted to be with Tamarack forever or Qiu forever, you'd be able to tell them directly without the other being around to hear it.

For the Slumber Party, when talking about the Dare/Double Dare game, the MC of the play through was a detective, and Qiu convinced the MC to consider this an investigation of the mysterious Mr. Baumann (after the MC says, "I'm a detective, not a criminal."), it proceeds to: 'But the head of the heist stopped again.' For those who see this as an investigation rather than a criminal heist, shouldn't this read as: 'But the head of the investigation stopped again.'? Also, after the fuse, the MC narrates about the cul de sac crew being wannabe criminals, 'wannabe investigators' should be swapped in. My character was upset with becoming a criminal for Tamarack's bending the rules of her grounding, leery about sneaking onto Qiu's backyard back in the Prologue, and was on the case in Hide & Seek, so being convinced to see the dare as an investigation is important for the MC agree to do it in the first place. 🔎🔍😊

When we enter the hallway of the Baumanns, we can ask Opal (using the nickname the MC has for her) and Mrs. Baumann if they could have candy. If our MC chose to take up Mrs. Baumann's offer to call her 'Granny', could this option read: "(Opal's nickname)? Granny? Can I have some candy?"

Psykes

When the MC tells/indicates to Qiu whether they'd let Qiu take the snacks (if the MC was crowned Snack winner) or not, could there be an option to 'You flexed your arm to show you can handle it.'/'You flexed your arm and used the hand of the other arm to exaggerate how strong you really were.'

After doing a play through with a character, not doing the Moments in the order of left to right, and doing it over a stretched period of time (a couple weeks with a lot happening irl), I forgot what culture I picked for Jack "Halloween Boy" Pumpkinhead when Tam's party in Fancy Fun came up. (With 'Trick-or-Treat' around the corner it felt appropriate for Jack Pumpkinhead to get up to speed) Had we picked a heritage/culture for our MC, could it be displayed in the MC Info panel? Edit: Since it it doesn't show up much (so far) at Stage 2, it may just be easier to have what the culture the MC has chosen in the dialogue choice for whether you want to wear a cultural outfit or to just dress up for the tea party.

Nakira

For the sleepover, could there be an option to express a desire to call your mom because you're scared/uncomfortable/ect? I recall doing that during my first sleepover because I was so scared of being away from home for so long and I missed my dad something fierce xD

GnomeProphet

In Magic, it'd be fun if the MC could inform the other two that they play an instrument when music is called magical, maybe even suggest that they're a spellcaster for doing so!

MaybeJealous

Maybe a choice to make the MC selective mute (can get really close already which is great) for example there is no way to tell Qiu the MCs nickname without speaking (maybe writing it below the other in the dirt). Or allow the choices of some common diseases that may impact only small things. (Such as option not to race because of arthritis or option to take a daily medicine with the breakfast in slumber party)
