Oh lord, Step 2’s Halloween moment is gonna hurt, isn’t it. My poor, desperately-trying-to-bridge-the-gap MC.

Ashllewelyn

Oh man these screenshots are like a gut punch 😭 Really well done!

Step 2 MC: That's when it hits me, my friends aren't friends.

Jose Velazquez

It’s okay because they got MC to keep things fun and good no matter what!

H.Haneul

Ahhhhhh it hurts to see it like this way still, but the costumes make so much sense when it’s these two together, nooo but this happens so much in the story that makes it sadder

Glowbulle

Stop giving me more reasons for playing the game multiple times 🤣

yoms

🥹🥹 agh..the slow growing gap between them surely is gonna be the spookiest thing this Halloween

The dramaaaaaaaaaa

ItaLii

Even when they’re ‘closer’ as younger kids, you can see almost every way where their priorities and beliefs divert from one another. And I think when you’re that age/growing up those differences can feel much bigger than they actually are. They’re always as big as you make them. When you’re not determined to hold onto something, or you already think you’re gonna lose it, it’s much easier to let it go. Even without the help of an MC who wants everyone to be friends, something tells me they’re still the kind of people who can come back together. They just need to go through those growing pains first <3 Even when I’ve played the whole demo so far these kids are on my mind like every other day lol

🥹💔 I can't wait to play this part and be heartbroken.

poor babies 🥹

Calysha B

My babies. 😭😭😭 *hugs them*

T Payne

This game is going to be both heartwarming and heartbreaking and I am so excited for it.

John Q. Adams

I love how well the conflicts/themes of each moment tie together. The writing is absolutely incredible. I can't wait to see how their worldview's evolve as they grow up.

Cheese

how dare you make me sad on a Saturday lol

Psykes

Little did Qiu realise how much things are going to change, even within his close friend group. I also noticed that Qiu did not include the MC in the future Halloween plans with Darren and Baxter. (Whether this was more of a neutral/neighbour dialogue or that Qiu doesn't think the MC wants to hang out with them?)

Lien Hua

This is going to be a nostalgic upper cut to when you remember friendships diverging in childhood

Flightwings

My MC would be happy to keep trick or treating with you Tamarack!!

GB Patch

Qiu does not mention you no matter your relationship. In Step 1, Qiu likes you but their best friend is Ren. Qiu comfortable planning their future together because they've known each other almost their whole lives. MC is still someone Qiu just met. Of course, in the present Qiu is happy to include MC. Qiu simply won't decide you'll be there for every holiday in the future.

YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO TRICK OR TREAT!! I always went trick or treating in my neighborhood up until I was 18! Going out with friends and not worrying about “being childish” was so much fun!! And to this day I’ll never pass up an opportunity to dress up as my favorite characters, even if I’m just handing out candy now :)
