I find it interesting that Tamarack's phone looks like a iPhone 5s or something whereas the MC's phone looks like the generic Samsung that I heard when I was 13/14 (I think I actually still have it in a box somewhere) Not to play Sherlock Holmes or anything but it probably says something about the relative wealth of their parents (although I'm almost certainly reading into that too much)

Also in part the priorities of parents. It is mentioned that Opal doesn't go for extravagance. But I do agree about the wealth thing too.

Very much understand that from experience growing up like me and my mum weren't exactly poor (at least after my mum got a better job) but my mum worked very hard to keep us in the realm of lower middle class and she was very particular about what she did spend money on even if we could afford something like I have a lot in common with the MC on that front

considering how tam's parents are both super successful and wealthy it already isn't shocking they'd buy her the most up to date phone, but they also buy stuff for her in place of being there to raise her,, if im remembering correctly 🤓

I'll be honest I think it has to do with money more than extravagance, I think she's mentioned a few times to be "cheap" (for lack of better words) and given they don't have much money in general she goes for used or low priced stuff a lot, I too remember my first ever phone was a small Samsung, smaller than my hand. It was a Samsung Galaxy Mini I think, but that's all I remember. I don't remember the number or anything like that. Just that this is the closest shape to the one I had.

Mate I've had at least three different people comment that
