“Somebody was hitting a pencil against a desktop and tapping their foot. The beat between the two could’ve been morse code, maybe; you didn’t know morse code.” 

“But it definitely seemed like a student was trying to send a message.”

“The whole shape of Qiu’s pose gave the illusion of a line and hook. Their hand wiggled, trying for a bite. Qiu was passing notes in class!”
