Hi everyone! Today I've got the now-normal monthly post where all of you can ask whatever questions you have about our progress, the games, or the company. I'll try my best to answer them later this month in audio + transcript form!

This month I'll also be releasing a standalone recording that's entirely about character writing tips. It was gonna be included in the June Q&A but with how much I realized I could say about it and my big move that happened, I wasn't able to do it along with all the other answers. It is still coming, however!

What's the deal with OL2 MC's father? Will this be a part of the story as MC gets older and starts to questions things ala Liz asking about her birth parents?

In OL2 you can say you found the guy/girl, person you are going to marry. If we bring Tamarack or Qiu over do I have to worry opal may secretly spill the beans haha. Maybe when they are older it would be a cute thing for Tamarack or Qiu to be alone with your mom (You are upstairs or grabbing something) and she’s like “Oh yeah first day he said this”

In ol2, will you be able to pick a different bed than the one u choose in step 1? I know u said other elements of the room could change as you grow up, but what about that one? ^^ thanks

Also, if you have a crush on one of the MCs from ol2, will there be an option to tell the other and have it be a little secret? Like if the person you like did something nice for you, could the other make a face at you or bring it up later, either to celebrate or to tease you?

It's not a very important question, but I'm curious, how old are the main characters of OL2 compared to OL1? Like OL2's MC is 10 years old in step 1, while Cove and the other MC are 8 in their step 1. Do these steps take place in the same year, meaning that the new MC is 2 years older than Cove, or something else? Again, not the most important question, but I'm oddly curious about the timeline of this shared world. lol

Hi! During each of the steps in OL2, how tall were you imagining Qiu and Tamarack to be?

Hi! First of all thank you very much for creating such amazing games ! OL1 and OL2 are everything that I love so really thank you. Now I do have a few questions about OL2 and sorry if they have already been asked and I didn't see it...With that said, is it going to be possible to have a one-sided love/crush on Tamarack or Qui or the other way around? (I know it's not really fun but quite realistic, plus it can always change and that's what's beautiful haha) Also correct me if I'm wrong but we know that Qui is going to be a dancer and that we'll also be able to be one if we want. Does that mean that we will potentially have a scene where we could dance together and communicate our feelings for them through dance and not words ? feeling the proximity and connection (sensuality ..you know it...a movie-like romance scene haha)(or just confort, if we're upset for whatever reason) hum hum anyway, and the same with Tamarack through music? Sorry it's a bit long, thank you again for your hard work and answering my questions if you do ! (I hope it's not too incomprehensible) Bye bye !

I absolutely love the more in-depth relationship dynamic system, and I was wondering if we ever see/get to know what Qiu's and Tamarack's are towards each other? And are they friends with each other or just neighbors?

without giving too much away, would you say that OL2's plot is planned to have more angst or conflict than OL1, pretty much the same amount, or be fluffier than it's predecessor? I'm aware that OL's selling point is that it's pretty feel good and optimistic, but that didn't stop OL1 from having a fair share of conflict. Can we expect more or less of that for its sequel?

In OL1 there is a screen for choosing if your MC wears accessories and if they prefer dress, skirts, pants, and/or shirts. Is there a reason that isn't in the character creating panel for OL2? Do you plan on adding something similar later?

I would love a squish (or 20). I would really like one of kid Cove, Nicholas, and Qiu! I also want a poster of Cliff (drools), and all the Jeremy! Ohh and the Guide, so basically my question is when will there be more merch? And wallpapers, Id really like a Tamarack in leaves for my desktop. Or a way to order prints cause I will seriously plaster my entire house with OL! 😂

i'm very curious as to if we can get more scar options as the mc grows? if I recall from the answer to my last question there will be a "delinquent-esque" route, will the mc get into fights?

Thank you for hosting your monthly QnAs GB! It's great to see so much stuff I hadn't already know just... promptly splattered in front of me in whimsical form lol. Anyway, since I know a lot of people via Tumblr and even here on Patreon were gushing over the OL2 side characters, who would you personally think would be the best candidates of the cast to be possible DLC LIs? Y'know, if that chance ever does come around that us OL enthusiasts crave some more variety in our playthroughs.

Thanks for always doing these! If I'm interested in being Qiu's right-hand pal as a kid who's crushing on Qiu under the surface the whole time, any recommendation for the dynamic that would best fit that? Also, any idea if any of the OL2 characters are going to get identity changes/reveals other than Qiu and Ren as the steps progress? I really loved how that happened with Cove and Terry better understanding themselves in OL1.

This isn't a very fun question, but what is the best way to report bugs to you guys when playing the OL2 Beta or the OL1 DLC Betas? Is just commenting on the Patreon download preferred? Or is there another way to report finding an issue? Thank you for making such awesome games!

Even if Opal could call the MC by their nickname at later stages, would she still be able to use the full name if the MC does something wrong/wants their attention? That used to be the hint kids get when they are either in trouble or the parent really, really wants them to come home, for example.

Considering Fall is typically a rainy season, will that play a part in OL2? Such as the MC and Qiu/Tamarack walking to/from school in the rain, or a Moment where the MC and friends had to come in from a thunderstorm, or something like that?

I saw a askus post before, it mentioned if Cove is very social and not crushing on MC, he could be with others but the relationship is always temporary and very casual. Is it mean Cove doing hookup? I dont really understand western culture but isnt casual relationship is something like hookup or fwb?

Hey, first of all I just wanted to say that I love your work and appreciate all you do. Like even taking time out of your busy schedule to answer our questions but with that being said, I was wondering how tall are Qiu and Tamarack going to be after they are done growing? Or even how tall they are in step 1 when they are kids? Obviously you don’t have to answer but I just thought it would be a fun question 😅. That being said haha my question is: Is there a possibility that the games will be translated in other languages in the future? I'm hispanic! I was just curious since I have a lot of friends that have played the games using Google translate because they love them so much!

First of all, you rock! Second, I was wondering what size character sprites you use. Do they differ by game? Im an animation student/ aspiring developer, and I really like how the character sprites look in “Our Life: Beginning and Always”. I tend to have trouble converting dimensions like height (short characters looking bigger than tall characters, taller characters not actually looking very tall, etc) between art pieces and software so I was wondering if you had any advice?

Would it be possible for OL2 to have an interaction where you explain like your love language. For example I am a very touchy person. I love to hug and be close, hold hands, etc. so for me with beta build, when it said to tug on Tamarack’s sleeve, I initially chose that because to me that was showing affection towards her. But in game it seems like it is more of your shy response.

You've mentioned before how relationship standings could work in OL2 (I love how detailed it is ♥) ; could it be possible to "drift apart" in a relationship? Like going from Crushes to just Neighbors?

Ah keep an eye on questions asked and questions answered ^^; there’s a bunch of questions here that have been answered even in game. Plenty are on the tumblr as well. Of course ask as you’d like but if new questions don’t get asked because not enough time doing repeats then it can be a mess.

Would our OL2 MCs and their cul-de-sac friends be able to camp outside? Whether it's in Qiu's hideout or the woods behind their houses?

I downloaded the android version of the OL: N&F demo, and sometimes while playing, I get an error screen that gives me options like rollback, ignore, copy, etc. The only thing I can do is click "Ignore" a few times and then have to skip a section of game play, such as Opal showing us the second floor. Is that just a problem with me, or is it a bug in the demo?

Like OL1 will OL2 not delve deep into the harsh life aspects like people being homophobic or racist? I like it that way and want to make a book with a similar concepts. What made you go this route? Do you plan to make the love internet race more prominent like culture or cuisine! Or keep things ambiguous? Again no compliments I love how open and accepting these games are! OL and the bits of OL2 thus far are amazing
