February's beta build is ready and that means you'll be able to leave your feedback on it!

Here you can leave ideas for small MC script additions in Our Life: Now & Forever. There are various guidelines for what is doable, though.

To start, I can't add new features, entire new scenes, concepts that'd have to be accounted for over the whole story of the game, or anything not script-based (e.g. art/music). What I can do is add in specific choices/reactions to specific scenes to add some extra fun and make the existing content more fitting to different MC types.

There's a lot of things the MC can theoretically do/think/feel in OL2; the dynamic settings, the MC's feelings on the move and house and town and school, if they're shy or rude or amiable with different people, if they break rules or not, if they're tidy/polite or messy/rowdy, and more.

I try to remember it all, but I'm sure there are situations where I don't give certain aspects enough attention. If you feel like there's pieces missing to complete the experience, you've got a chance say so.

Basically, I'm gonna do my best to have the game reflect a wide range of responses/emotions per scene, but I want to do that without the game's actual completion being delayed by weeks, months, or years by adding more and more totally new scenes/features to it, haha.

Comments usually don't get a reply, but that doesn't mean the suggestion isn't going to be added. However, if you don't read the guidelines and request something not possible, it also might not get a comment to explain that it's not going to be added. I'm afraid it's not always possible to keep up with everything people post. So please do read the guidelines!

Guidelines:

-Suggestions are for the script. You can express an interest in new art, features, music, etc. and I'll remember that as the type of things players would want if possible based on time/budget, but anyone can do that kind of post in any place and putting it here in the suggestion thread won't give it a greater chance of being possible.

-Suggestions can only be for the content that's available for players to test. I won't be able to keep up with requests that apply to theoretical future scenes that don't exist. To go along with that, suggestions can't be to completely remake a current scene in a different way or to fit in entire new scenes in between what's there. This also applies to requesting MC elements/additions that expand over the entire game. For example, you can't request that the game should start tracking what phrases the MC tends to use and have characters comment in the future on their common phrases. Suggestions are for just the current scenes and the content that's already being tracked.

-Suggestions are for the MC and general prose. I can't do requests to change how non-playable-characters behave/speak. They are who they are.

-Suggestions must be appropriate for the age of the MC and the overall 16+ rating for the game. I can't make the 10-year-old MC act like an adult, not unless it's framed as clearly a child who is trying to pretend as if they're grown up. And I can't put in a ton of bad language or adult topics, especially in Step 1.

-Suggestions don't have to be specific, but that greatly increases how likely it is that what you want will end up in the game. For example, commenting that you'd enjoy silly options is something I can keep in mind when working on the game, but may not come through that well. Saying you'd like an option where the MC can tell a joke on a specific choice menu in a certain scene will give me a lot more context on what to do.

-Suggestions can be too specific, however. I can't use comments where the player actually writes out MC dialog/prose and would like that added word for word into the game. The goal is for me to create what players enjoy, I don't want to outsource filling in the script to other people.

There's also a channel in the private GB Patch discord for submitting suggestions, if you prefer to chat there.

And that's everything. You're welcome to mention where you think the MC could have more reactions/responses and such!

Thank you for following OL2's development 💕

My MC (Berry Crumble)'s wearing what looks like a winter jacket with a fluffy trim that looks like it's part of a hood (the fluff looks like whipped cream that fits in with my character's dessert name :) ), but there's not an option to put up the hood (like Qiu) when the rain started to pour in 'Hide & Seek'. I don't know if the jacket in question really does have a hood, or if the game's not giving the option for the character to use if, if it does have a hood.

when meeting pran it says something like ‘is this kid just as shy as you?’ but I didn’t mean to categorize my MC as shy. I cant think of anything specific right now, but could you add more responses that are wordless, but not shy? i sometimes can’t tell whether the choice I pick will sway the game’s interpretation or not :)

When the MC meets up with the second LI with the first one they encounter helping them to investigate the paper plane mystery in the Prologue, it sort of feels like they are going through inviting the first LI they meet to join up. Could the options that put into consideration of there already being an LI with the MC? Such as 'You turned to (Qiu/Tamarack): "Is it okay if (Tamarack/Qiu) comes with us?"' 'You thought for a moment and said, "Alright you can come with us." 'You didn't waste any time, and agreed. The more the merrier!'

I was wondering, for the Stage 2 Preview, when MC (or MC and Tamarack) is trying to convince Qiu to come with them to school, could there be an option for the MC to sit at the base of the fort and/or lean against the fort next to Qiu's legs? To show Qiu you cared for them and you want to show you won't abandon them. --------- Playing a 'hyper-active helpful' character soon after my last playthrough of the Stage 2 Preview, I thought of an option that would be nice to have in the Stage 1 Prologue. What if the MC, instead of pointing out/ignoring Qiu's fallen paper/tell Qiu of the paper on the ground, quickly/quietly picked up the paper for Qiu? Pointing out the paper reminded me of Tamarack being worried about Qiu's lost sheet of paper that the MC could scoop up to hand to Qiu later on in the classroom. What if the MC's ready to be Qiu's ready helpmate sooner?

Whether you're shy or not as a default is determined in the prologue. After that, choices will only impact the current Moment you're in. So, if you're nervous or hesitant in the first part of the story that will stick around for the rest of it. At least until Step 2 comes along and you can fully change your personality. Thank you for the feedback!
