Sailor Moon: Getting Kidnapped by Moonlight Part 6 (Patreon)

Wow! Super proud to show off the next page of Sailor Moon GKM ("Getting Kidnapped by Moonlight").

I began work on this piece January 23rd, and spent 3 days fine-tuning the line art.  This will almost certainly be color complete before month-end, with time to spare.  The last page showed Jadeite chloroforming Sailor Mercury and then tying her up along with Sailor Mars.  This page introduces Sailor Moon and how she tries to rescue her tied-up friends.  As you can see, it's not going to end well for Usagi!

I wanted to begin the page with a more detailed establishing shot - it's just Usagi looking over the city in her characteristic superhero pose.  I learned some neat tricks with the perspective ruler that will be handy later.

Usagi then hears the muffled cries of her friends and runs over.  For the central panel, I thought it would be cool to show Sailor Moon from behind, looking at a tied-up Mars.  Didn't have room to show Mercury's face, but she's featured in the fourth panel below.  Both Senshi begin to wake up from their slumber.

The final panel shows Usagi focused on rescuing Sailor Mars, unaware that Jadeite is behind her with a chloroform-soaked rag.  Mars is still gagged and can't warn Usagi in time.  Cliffhanger!

Update 1/27/2022: Flat colored page added.
