Good evening everyone!

I am very nearly finished with commission three (hoping to be done tomorrow). Unfortunately, due to the nature of the commission, it isn't something I can post on Patreon. But... if anyone emails me privately at grogstoopid32@gmail.com, I am always willing to share early drafts in exchange for feedback... wink wink.

Commission three is going to be slightly over 150 pages in length, so I expect it to be four parts give or take when posted publicly. After drafting I will be moving on to editing, which should take a few days, after which, I will be outlining and drafting Downward Dog Part 2.

In the meantime, I was interested in picking the brains of my audience here regarding cuckold stories.

So, quick story time about a minor disappointment of mine. It regards the story "Multitasking". When I finished "Multitasking" I was really excited. It was maybe the story I was most excited to release of all of my stories. It really resonated with me, and I thought it was really hot.  I somehow felt that it was the story that was really going to take off.

Long story short: it didn't. I wouldn't call it a complete failure, it got some very kind complimentary comments, and has almost 20 thousand views as of this post. I'm sure many authors would be happy with that result. But the fact remains that it is one of my lowest rated stories.

It made me stop and think. Why would a story that I thought was so good get such a lukewarm reception? I started to suspect that my tastes were out of step with the general public when it came to cuckold stories.

Multitasking is the story of a boyfriend straight up losing and being humiliated. The ending is pretty dark, and doesn't leave much hope. The MC is a wimp, and suffers major degradation. I find it hot when a cuckold story involves deep, lasting betrayal, and the man finding twisted pleasure in their own humiliation. But I am concerned that I am in the minority there.

When it comes right down to it, I want to write stories that other people like, and I think maybe my sensibilities when it comes to stories about infidelity are getting in the way of that. I'm curious what other people think about their ideal cuckolding story. Let me know in the poll and in any comments below. Your feedback is valuable!

P.S. Edit: I also want to acknowledge the possibility that "Multitasking" just isn't that good of a story and I had a poor reading on its quality! I'm not immune from having a big head after all. I think all authors have a soft spot for some of their not-so-good stories from time to time, and maybe that happened here.

Wow, I thought I'd read all your work, but just realised that I've never read Multitasking. Personally, I don't think it's got a great one line blurb on Literotica. And I somehow missed it.

Honestly it depends generally story to story. I think generally the total loss angle is appropriate for most cuck stories. I think typically we're expecting the cuck to be totally degraded and lose the relationship. But there's kind of a challenge in that, the more compelling and likable you make the cuck and the girl, the more the audience will want to see them get a happy ending. Now, I think the key to making the total loss stories work is to make the bull a layered character with a defined endgame. A lot of bulls are presented as basically one dimensional horny sadists whose goal is just “have sex, make cuck sad” and narratively having that character win is never really that satisfying. Giving the bull a want, a need, and a personality makes us root for and understand him and can make an absolute loss story. Like, giving a bull the parameters of “wants to break up the happy marriage of coworker because he’s bitter about his own divorce” or “wants to change the views of a racist by cucking their girlfriend.” Makes it far more palatable for them to totally crush their cucks. Because thematically it isn’t about cuckolding or the destruction of a relationship, cuckolding becomes just the method by which other themes can be explored. And humiliation can be felt in a way that is gratifying to the audience without being narratively unsatisfying. But if you have a likable cuck and his beautiful caring wife vs the big, mean bull, you want those uncomplicated heroes to get their happy ending.

I would tend to agree. I have a strong inclination that that is the core of cuckold stories. But it does seem like there is a vocal group that believes stories about infidelity have to end in either reconciliation or punishment for the cheater. Maybe it's just a group that prefers more realistic cheating stories and are tired of cuckold fetish materials saturating the market.

Thank you, that's insightful, and food for thought. I feel like most of the fun in cuck stories for me personally is living in the emotional reaction of the cuckold, so the bull can end up being a bit of a narrative tool rather than a developed character. That maybe explains why the particular story I'm discussing didn’t resonate: due to its short length, there wasn’t much development of the bull. It is making me reflect especially on my ongoing Cross Contamination series. I do want to develop Victor more, and this conversation is motivating me to put more effort into that process.

Also: I feel like the blurbs are a struggle for me! I believe it that a lackluster short description could turn people away from giving a story a try.

I often find new stories and authors by filtering through a tag (eg sph) then glancing at a combination of the ratings, title and blurb, waiting for something to catch my eye. The blurb is going to be the most important line *by a mile* in reaching new readers. I just finished reading Multitasking and really liked it.

I've often wondered what kind of life these people lead that makes them seek out cuckold stories to one star and get furious in the comments over.

As a bit of a counterpoint to the original comment what I find hot about cuckolding are the power dynamics and humiliation. Some reasonable verisimilitude in how the conquest happens definitely improves it for me - having the female conquest be a capable person that is nevertheless outsmarted is definitely my sweet spot. But I don't feel the bull needs to be flawed or relatable. In fact, part of what makes it hot is the unfairness and inevitability of the cuck losing to someone who's clearly better than them in every way.

For me, the build up is hotter than the actual act. The slow process where the wife/gf slowly twist the husband into a cuckold.

I wonder if Multitasking would work better if we saw a more gradual shift from a two person couple, to the bull taking part in the threesome, to the bull taking the alpha role. As it stands it jumps right from the threesome to them being in a throuple. Lots of the interesting stuff happens off screen.

Interesting... I didn't see it from that perspective. What I was going for with the ending was this: Lindsay believes that she is excellent at splitting her attention, but she is actually very bad at it. When Aidan brings up the idea that they form a throuple, Lindsay sees no problem with it: she really believes what she tells the MC at the end, that their relationship will stay the same. So I didn't really see the throuple as needing much of a seduction, Aidan brought it up, and Lindsay was unselfaware and naive enough to jump at the idea. We the reader know that Aidan has already won: Lindsay has a bad habit of focusing only on what interests her most when multitasking, and Ducky is doomed to be a humiliating third wheel in his own relationship. It's possible that not enough of this is on the page.

Yeah- the throuple is clearly a doomed one. My point is that after the threesome we got told more than we get shown. I think there are lots of ways to explore her failure to multitask, how Aiden encourages that and how Ducky is forced to acquiesce. That’s where the meat of the story lies, the different gradients of what is ultimately her betrayal, rather than Aiden’s final victory.

Ahhh, I see what you're saying. That's probably a result of my vision for the story. I saw it as a snappy short story, lead-up, one sex scene, stinger to end. Maybe the issue then was that the concept was too complex for that kind of story.

I honestly love your writing style and don't think there's anything wrong with that story! The only two things I'd say are: 1. With how the story ends, I'd love to read a part 2 where we can see the throuple fail and Ducky getting dumped in the end. It feels like so much more could be said with that setting! 2. Maybe with tags at the beginning of the patreon posts it'd be easier to understand the theme of the story. For example I've gone back to this particular story now that I found out it was a cuckold story But anyway, thank you, your stories are amazing and can't wait to read the next one!
