Congratulations, you have found one half of an artifact and decided to keep it. The other half resides in a different world from yours. Should both be claimed at once by a denizen of each world, their owners will meet in the dream between. It is here you must battle for a good night’s rest. The winner sleeps for six hours, feeling better than ever, while the loser sleeps in late, exhausted regardless...
Horse assumed this text on the cave wall meant a real fight with weapons and armor, but on closer inspection, she couldn't have been farther off. An "Inflation Fight" was requested-- With pumps, spells, or whatever one takes with them from their world. Horse didn't have much on her when she fell sleep, so she'll have to settle for whatever this hazy place offered. (Or what the previous duelists left behind?)
Lucky for her, the challenger had no clue what to do when they met. Hollyhock must've missed the instructions on the way in. She knew it was wrong, but Horse had a more important journey to wake for, so she lied to the naive mare without mentioning any challenge at all. Because of this, she freely pumped her opponent, assuring her this is supposed to happen. The two awoke the day after, Horse feeling like a million bucks and our poor college student late for class.
The next few dreams went like this for Hollyhock. A gray Horse blows her up like a balloon while promising everything is fine, only to find three missed alarms, six missed calls and an angry teacher by twelve. Even though this dream made no sense to her, it clearly had an effect on her sleep like a nightmare. So in the very next dream, Hollyhock played dumb, waited for Horse to look away, then shoved a hose where it didn't belong...
And so, the back and forth truly began. Sometimes Horse came out on top with her tactical thinking. Other times Hollyhock edged Horse out with various devices she'd bring, like a lipstick that inflated whoever you kissed. One fateful dream, the two were at a draw-- They both reached the same size and neither could move. They assumed the worst, maybe they'd awake to the day their social lives ended-- But no, instead, they both slept just fine! Better than either would have if somebody won.------Wow, tons of stuff to go over. What do you think of the writing and story? I want to write a full-blown narrative about this interaction, I think our horse girls are just adorable and I want to expand on this 'dream' idea so much <3
