The story continues with Caitlyn and Jinx locked in a slow, deliberate contest of control. Each one tries to push the other closer to the edge, and for most of the chapter Caitlyn looks like she has the upper hand — calm, precise, and determined not to break first.

Then the balance starts to slip.
