Nidoking Rig WIP: The model (Patreon)
Content
Been working in Maya for a few years now, but stil don't know how to make my own characters from scratch. I wanted to remedy that, so I decided to whip up a test rig using an existing model. To that end, I grabbed a ripped Nidoking from the 3DS games and gave it some tweaks. Some of these were for the sake of making him easier to animate; more geometry on the joints, giving him li'l nub fingers, etc. Other things were stuff I wanted to learn to do, like cutting open his face to give him proper moveable eyeballs and an actual tongue. And then there was stuff I thought just looked better but that wouldn't work in a low-poly model, like adding ridges to the tail. This won't be a hugely expressive character, nor will he be doing any of the... stuff... you might expect from me (that will come later, once I know what I'm doing). I wanted to show you guys this now because I wanted to lock it in amber and avoid adding details forever. Keep it simple, learn the lesson, move on. Posted using PostyBirb
