And what if I told you all that I actually LOVED the movie??

The movie isn't perfect by any means, and there are quite a few things that weren't properly explained, however the Ladynoir?? That food was FOR ME! I was going to be the first person to dis on this movie since it was a musical, but I truly found myself loving most of the songs and going back to rewatch them.

Awakening gave me those feelings I had for ML back in season 1-3 and gave me back that dynamic between Ladynoir that I've always loved. It was fun and nostalgic!

What did you think of the movie?

I agree! Enjoyed it but one thing I really didn’t love that sunshine boy wasn’t sunshine boy he definitely did a 180 on his personality

Magical Otter

I loved the fact it was a musical and enjoyed ladynoir moments. I do wish they had shown more of Adrien's personality not in the mask though. And I really relate to Marinette doubting herself.

Kristinniicole

I liked it a lot, the only thing that felt weird for me, right off the bat, was that Marinette's singing voice didn't feel like it matched her speaking voice. Other than that it was good

I loved the movie too! As you said some things could have been explained better, and I wasn’t a huge fan of Plagg’s character in this…but it was also a 90 minute film aimed at kids so I came in considering that over all. It wasn’t perfect by any means. The Ladynoir was perfect and made my Ladynoir loving heart so happy. I miss season 1-3 Ladynoir so much!

I absolutely LOVED the movie! Like you said, there were moments I didn’t like about it but I loved the ladynoir moments!! The animation is amazing, loved the songs, and Tikki was absolutely adorable! I kinda didn’t like how they did plagg but that’s just my opinion. Love this art!! ❤️

ARCat

That pure classic ladynoir goodness, heck yeah i ate that 😍😍 i want to be playing their song together in my head 24/7 and i will never recover from the way Chat said "Don't"⚰

Mariposa

I LOVED IT "I think I need to go home now" "Don't.." I HOPE TO SEE THAT AS A DRAWING IN THE FUTURE. I'M CRYING

Phoenix

I loved the hell out of it. Yea, it wasn't perfect but I think it was still good. Considering it was aimed for kids, some stuff may seem weird or jokes may not land (like Plagg's character) for adults but it was great. I loved the songs and the visuals - OMG THE VISUALS!!! THE DRESSES AT THE END????!!!?!? The songs were amazing too, really liked them despite seeing them in French and not understanding a word lol (still haven't had a chance to watch in English yet). STORY: I was in France when I saw it in theaters and I managed to convince my friends to come. There were like 7 college girls, all early 20's, watching a film in a language we did not understand. I, however, understood some of it due to the fact I watched the show, so while I may not understand the language, I knew the characters, motivations, backstories, etc. My friends? Never even heard of the show before. I convinced them to go and I expected to be the only one enjoying it. Boy was I wrong! The first song played? I forgot it was a musical so we were all freaking out. The first transformation? Cheers. The first villian? Gasps! The motivation for Hawkmoth? *whispered* "Who the hell is that? She pretty...she dead?" The ending battle? Edge of seats, mouths open in shock, fear, wonder. The Ladynoir song? Telling them to just "kiss already dammit!!" The end of that song? Oh boy our reactions. The ending ending? We have a video of the screen and it's dead silent and then as the black screen pops up there's just shouts and "come on, really???!!" and more. At the end, they were asking me if any of that happened in the show, what was changed, etc. They even said "guess I gotta watch the show now" and "now I'm interested, its on Netflix right?" (Told them that the last time I checked it was on both Netflix and Disney Plus). This movie revitalized a love for the story, characters, etc. For the show. It was also just the right combination of needed things for a time when I was at a pretty low point. I think I got to say that this movie may hold a special place in my heart (from what it did to me, the memories I have with my friends and more) forever more. 10/10

Phoenix

I saw it in French and I couldn't really hear the difference in Marinette's voice (I was kind of freaking out about it being a musical bevause I forgot) but Adrien's speaking and singing were different. So much so, my friends all commented on it. But I mean I understand. Some voice actors can't sing and some singers can't voice act - you do what you can. Luckily, I felt, it wasn't weird or off enough for me to take away from the movie, which is a good sign

Kristinniicole

That makes sense. Marinette just had a higher more soprano speaking voice and her singing voice was a deep alto. It was gorgeous and we need more songs in those ranges it just felt like a super stark contrast going from singing to speaking and vice versa

Heidi Bee

I also loved it! The animation was so amazing and I finally got to see the version of Gabriel I have longed for.

Heidi Bee

I second this but I want an aged up sin version 🥵

Heidi Bee

Omg yes agree! I love Lou’s voice, she’s got such a great and unique sound. I was surprised they didn’t have Cristina sing for Marinette since she can sing. Lou’s deep singing voice was jarring in contrast to Cristina’s bubbly higher pitched voice.

Kristinniicole

Yes!!!! Both were stunning but it was just off-putting having them supposedly be from the same person!!

Mariposa

.... I too agree with that

Emily

I have very mixed feelings about the movie 😅 namely like WHY didn’t they let Cristina Vee sing like threw me so off gaurd. Also it was wack to see Gabriel react that way to finding out Adrien was chat when in the show he found out and flung him halfway across Paris 🫢

Emma

I loved it minus how they characterized Plagg. They did our boy dirty. I really liked the idea of Marinette and Adrien knowing when the other is transformed due to their Miraculous flashing. I highly doubt the Miraculous would flash like that and it’d be more of a spidey sense (like what Hawk Moth gets when he senses negative emotions) but I guess they wanted something more visual.

Ginevra Ellul

Firstly, your artwork is gorgeous, as always!! I loved the Ladynoir dynamic, the animation and the reveal. I think Cristina Vee could have sung in the English dub. I didn't like how Plagg was characterised. Overall, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Constance Truggle

Gorgeous! I have not yet seen the movie, though I plan to. But as usual, your art is so fucking amazing!

ZeroFaded

I absolutely loved the movie and this art is STUNNING 😭

2026-10-13 10:00 I adore this so much! I’ve seen the movie about 5 times now and it just gets better with every rewatch, especially if you watch it in French it’s so much more romantic! I did find Lou’s singing voice and Cristinas speaking voice didn’t match very well for the English dub but I’m quickly getting over that! I can’t believe they robbed us of that kiss at the end by fading to black way too soon! X Also THEY MADE GABRIEL HOT …

We got so much ladynoir content and it gave us an ending reval and kiss!! I'm so happy you gave us this! We've been starved in the series for too long and your art is so gorgeous!

Kai

Totally agree with you, not perfect but definitely gave me nostalgia of the earlier seasons 😊

Rose Minou

Being deaf, music was never a thing for me. However I love the dynamic Ladynoir are showing. Revealing and ending was ideal had it been back in earlier seasons. I like this movie, although not on top of my list. This movie has it's own beauty differ to the series.

Ezmi

I know we're all making unpopular opinions here but YES! I've felt so bad about loving the movie more than the show when I hear lots of my favorite authors and creators tearing it down. This gave us a ladybug that really deserves her Chat Noire (which TV Marinette hasn't deserved since somewhere in season 2 or 3).

Tea

may be a hot take but i loved it. yes the pacing was off (very very off) but it gave a redeemable Gabriel, an identity reveal, and Adrien an actual chance to confront his dad. and for only those reasons, i liked it over the dumpster fire of a season finale

ChelBella

I really enjoyed it. I’m obsessed with the music 😍 and I’m with everyone else on that scene where Chat is saying “Don’t”. That will live rent free in my mind forever 🫶🏼

The False Vyper

Yeah, I really thought it felt out of place not having Adrien confront his dad in the show

The False Vyper

The movie really captured everything I love about Ladynoir! With the show, Ladybug falling for Chat felt so inconsequential because it lasted for .2 seconds, but the movie made it CLEAR that she loved him and that was awesome

The False Vyper

I agree! I think Cristina would have nailed the songs, she sings so beautifully 🥺

The False Vyper

I DID NOT like what they did to Plagg, it was so disappointing 😔

The False Vyper

Yeah, I think Gabe in the show has t really loved Adrien since S3, so I found it refreshing how torn apart he was when he realized he was hurting his son

The False Vyper

That's such an awesome story and experience! I hope your friends enjoy the show 👀

The False Vyper

That scene was MADE FOR ME 😭😭 The way they were looking at each other spoke to my soul!

The False Vyper

Adrien did feel very off as his civilian self and I was a bit disappointed with that, however we haven't seen him be goofy and cocky as Chat in FOREVER! Loved seeing that side of him come back

fluffypikachu

I actually really liked it too! My main thing was the fact that the singing voices didn’t match the talking voices. As a huge musical/theater nerd, it really bothered me that they didn’t try to match the voices even a little, especially for Marinette. Adrien’s was close enough but you could still tell it was someone else.

The False Vyper

I feel the same, at least with Marinette. It really threw me off the first time, but eventually I just tried to enjoy it as much as I could

Professor Boner

Tbh as much as I love the movie, there's too many issues for me to give it a higher score than 7.5-8/10

Katie Chadwick

It's sweet, I think it would be easier for people who watch the show to follow with the plot holes. However the extra lore gives a fresh twist that is appreciated

POTENTIAL SPOILERS: Honestly, I was concerned. When I started watching, I had nothing but complaints... But by the time LadyNoir had their duet, I was sold hook, line, and sinker. It's the best AU adaptation I've ever seen! I screamed in anger when they cut off that final Adrinette scene (like would it have been SO HARD to give us the next two seconds?) but actually, I think I prefer the movie ending to the clips I've found of the Season 5 ending... I admittedly need to catch up on the show, but still... From what I can tell, the movie ending is MUCH more satisfying than the current show ending.

sb

Honestly, yess. I loved how it took us back to the season 1 ladynoir
