Another personal piece I wanted to work on. I started this one back when I was also drawing "20 Meters" last year. It was the second study I was doing of one of my favorite artists (Sachin Teng) where I wanted to focus more on the painterly colors. Of course it's another piece about transness that I am not exactly sure how I explain well in words. I think I also was drawing this around the time I realized she was a trans artist herself, so her work became even more meaningful to me. Ended up going with the dark blacks for the slices and mask over the original trans blue and pinks I had. I like the contrast a lot. Also had a ton of fun painting the smoke out. Ultimately a really fun lesson and I learned a lot from it. It was nice to sit down and spend some time painting again even if it can be rough on my hands now. I might do another charity poster run if I can get it ready in time for AWU, though it ended up being an odd shape of extra long. Certainly wont be easy to frame!

The colors for this piece are gorgeous. I really like how the mask stands out. Killer work, it's awesome seeing your skills applied in a different style! I also really like the longer aspect ratio you went for (intentional or not lol). It fits the work well!

This is Sick. The Evocative coloring and the mood of it all is beautiful.

truly amazing work as always! I'd 1000000000% buy this as a poster!

I’d not come across Sachin Teng’s art until now. It’s beautiful, the colours and composition are so good. This is a great piece, you’ve certainly captured the essence of her work.

I'm always glad to get more people's eye's on her work! It's been some of my favorite for over a decade :3

It’s probably only somewhat similar work, stylistically anyway, but check out Tomer Hanuka’s work if you get the chance to. Really eye-popping art, it doesn’t carry the same undertones in context but it’s a visual feast all the same.

I definitely get that melancholy feeling from this. It also feels relaxed, though not necessarily in a sad way.
