Heya everyone! BIG NEWS!

I'm working on lots and lots and LOTS of things right now, so please bear with me while i get some things ready for you all! First things first...

"Let's Go Hiking, Nerd!" is BACK! And it has a new start! More context and all. We start on Syrup's university, and we go from there. Along with that, we get one of Syrup's roommates and classmates, Pecan! She's a nerd, but not the same type as Syrup (she's the gamer type), and she's a bit brash and arrogant. I wonder what (or who) could soften up this ball of snark...

I was really busy concepting out their looks and feels. Ended up making them a smiiiiidge more shapely, just to make em easier to draw. Also also, thinking of making this watercolor-looking! It'll make the whole thing feel a little softer, a little warmer. Really pushing for cozy here.

There's some sketches in there with text, but you can't really read them, so I'll put them here and describe what's being said!

S: Oh? I Don't need any help...thanks for offering though!

P: I'll do the dishes, IF you can beat me in Super Ultra Fighters.S: You know I'm not falling for that. I've lost four times in a row!P: Oh so what--you're afraid you're gonna LOSE or something?S: N-no!P: Pick up the controller then, dweeb.

M: Alright Class. Can anyone remember what we talked about last lecture?M:No? Anyone?M: Well then, looks like we're going to have to do remedial homework if absolutely no one knows...M: Oh! Syrup?

On top of that, I'll be releasing the comic in a chapter format. This is the first one! Right now it's unnamed. I'm not sure how many pages will be in a chapter, but at the moment I've got around 7 or so pages sketched and drafted up. I'm currently lining the first page! I'm building a buffer, so I won't post them as I make them, I'll post the first five pages here before anywhere else! Then, I'll try my best to keep it up!

and can we get a drumroll for this one......

THE SITE IS LIVE!!!

The Happy Trails comic site is LIVE! Currently, there's Sloppy Spiel, NotLM (not fully uploaded yet), and Happy Trails Quest (this means happy trails quest is back on! Just gotta get the main comic up to date and I'll be working on that in between pages, if you want something spicy!) If you want to take a look, and maybe even leave a comment or two, hehe, click that lil button! A HUUUGE thanks to my friend Ari for helping me out with this site! I couldn't have done it without them!

Check it out here!

Take a nice good look at that cast page! Maybe take a real close look at it...because it's got a little something extra to it (if you find it, i hope you enjoy :) it's got to do with each character!)

Okay woah....well if you can't tell from all this, I'm WORKING! I'm a little AFK right now because I'm so into this, writing, sketching, and concepting out idea after idea! It's been a lot of fun, and I'm excited to show you all more when it's all ready. I'm not taking many commissions through all this, so I really appreciate you all sticking around. It's the only way this thing is getting made!

Some closing thoughts, previous cedar and redwood winners, I haven't forgotten about you! I just got tunnel vision on this comic, but I'll be working on all of your things first thing in the morning from now on, so they should all be finished up at the end of the first week of June. (thanks so much for being patient!) Despite not having them all done yet, I WILL be opening up the Cedar and Redwood rewards tomorrow and you'll have until the 15th of June to get in your replies!

And with that, I'm out!
