“We have traveled from place to place many times, passing through deserted areas, but I’ve never met a single General Level Demonic Beast. Are they really that common?” Leyvi asked, still curious.

“Hoho, you said it yourself. From place to place. That means from one human settlement to another, right? Of course we have cleared all the routes that humans usually travel. You’re not going to find any along those cleared paths under normal circumstances,” Gandolf replied.

“I see… that makes sense,” Leyvi nodded, clearly thinking about something.

“Why? Do you want to look for them or something? Persuade and recruit one or two?” Gandolf asked in a joking tone.

“Not recruit. I’m planning to fight against one when I have the chance,” Leyvi replied.

What? The group of Protectors stared at him in disbelief.

What do you mean you want to fight a General Level Demonic Beast? Are you out of your mind? You’re still only a Core Formation Realm cultivator. That’s no different from trying to challenge a Soul Formation Realm powerhouse.

Newton stepped forward.

“Leyvi, are you saying that your Spiritual Cultivation level is already strong enough to fight a General Level Demonic Beast?”

Unlike the others, Newton realized that Leyvi was not referring to his Qi Cultivation.

“I’m not completely sure. I just exited seclusion after all. That’s why I want to find out,” Leyvi said.

Unlike Qi Cultivation, Spiritual Cultivation did not yet have a systematic way to accurately gauge power levels. For the time being, they could only use Qi Cultivation realms as a rough comparison. Perhaps in the future a better method of measuring Spiritual Cultivators’ strength would be developed.

Over the past decade, Leyvi’s mental power had grown tremendously. He could now confidently say that he could defeat any Commander Level Demonic Beast with ease.

That was why he was curious to test how well he would fare against a General Level Demonic Beast. All he needed now was the chance to face one.

From what Gandolf had said just now, Leyvi was sure he could quickly identify humanless regions if he could get his hands on a detailed map of the continent. After dealing with everything here, that was probably what he would do next.

Of course, he wouldn't go there alone.

He needed to bring Anda or Caterina along so they could rescue him if he ended up getting beaten up badly.

He didn't think he could win against a General Level Demonic Beast yet, but he believed he should be able to hold his ground for some time. He mainly wanted to find out exactly how long he could last against one. Having a better understanding of his current limit would be useful for future reference.

Meanwhile, the Protectors looked at one another in disbelief.

If Leyvi could really engage in battle against a General Level Demonic Beast, meaning he could already fight at the Soul Formation Realm level, then he could be considered one of the highest level experts in the continent.

How old was he again? Only in his forties. That was incredibly young.

How long would it take for him to reach the level of Demoness Cocolia back then?

Newton was especially excited by this possibility.

After all, he was the person leading the Spiritual Cultivation Project.

As an enemy, Demoness Cocolia had been truly terrifying. But now, they might have someone with comparable talent on their side.

That was fantastic news for Cloud Continent.

Newton believed that the faster Leyvi grew as a Spiritual Cultivator, the faster Spiritual Cultivation itself would progress throughout the continent. With Leyvi's talent, he would inevitably have a major influence on the development of the entire field.

Leyvi, however, didn't really care about what they thought.

Unlike in the past, it didn't matter as much if he revealed his true strength or not.

His family now had the Universe Airship as their final trump card. Even if something went wrong, he wasn't completely without a way out.

For now, he turned his attention back to the three crazed demonic beasts in front of him.

Under the restraining technique, the three beasts could barely even struggle.

Leyvi couldn't help but observe them carefully.

It was obvious that Gandolf and Sugaro were far more proficient at restraining demonic beasts than Lapin.

They also didn't take up much space because Gandolf and Sugaro had forcefully reduced their size with their restraining technique.

General Level Demonic Beasts could become incredibly large, after all. There was no way to fit them inside the building in their enlarged state.

Alita had a restraining technique with a similar effect as well, but Leyvi couldn't learn it yet because it required the utilization of soul power to activate. He could only learn it after reaching the Nascent Soul Realm.

But in his current situation, who knew how long it would take for him to reach the Nascent Soul Realm? By then, Alexandra had probably accused him of slacking off on his cultivation countless times already.

Maybe Barbara could help modify the technique so he could use it earlier somehow.

"Senior Sherlock, are we going to start? Give me a minute to prepare." Leyvi said, bringing his attention back to the matter at hand.

"Prepare?" Sherlock blinked. He wasn't sure what kind of preparation Leyvi needed.

Leyvi didn't reply. He simply closed his eyes and began chanting through spiritual speech.

This time, he immediately went all out. He already knew how powerful the repelling force inside the crazed demonic beasts was. There was no reason to hold back and slowly test it.

The entire hall soon echoed with the sound of the magical mantra.

The Protectors' eyes widened.

Some of them immediately raised their guards on reflex as the familiar mantra awakened memories from their past.

For a brief moment, the atmosphere became tense. Then they realized what was happening and lowered their guards again, letting out silent sighs.

Leyvi was really doing the same thing as Demoness Cocolia had done in the past. The only difference was that the demoness would have entered the Zenith State immediately.

Experiencing this scene again made the Protectors feel nostalgic and nervous at the same time. They had thought they would never see something like this again.

Only Alexandra didn't have the same reaction as the others. She had never met Demoness Cocolia, after all. She could only wonder what was so impressive about Spiritual Cultivation that would make all the old timers here react like this.

So far, she still wasn't impressed. It wasn't enough to be considered wonderful yet.

On the other side, Newton watched Leyvi with great interest.

Last time, it took Leyvi six minutes to enter the Zenith State. But what about this time? How much had he shortened it after a decade? Two minutes? Three minutes?

Newton waited patiently, curious to see the result.

However, he didn't have to wait long for his question to be answered.

Golden light suddenly emerged from within Leyvi. It shone brightly, filling the entire hall with golden brilliance.

The familiar golden radiance once again reminded the Protectors of the scene from the past. Except this time, they no longer had to fear it.

"A... a minute? He shortened it by this much already?" Newton muttered in disbelief. "I thought he said 'give me a minute' as a figure of speech. It turns out he really meant one minute."

He stared at Leyvi for a moment before breaking into a smile. "Hahaha! He wasn't called the greatest Spiritual Cultivation talent for nothing. He truly lives up to the title."

Newton's eyes became brighter. "Maybe he really can fight a General Level Demonic Beast already."

Leyvi then reopened his eyes.

Golden light shone through his pupils, making his already extraordinary presence even more pronounced.

"Senior Sherlock, I'm ready." Leyvi informed him in his normal voice while continuing to maintain the mantra through his spiritual speech.

"I see. So this is what you meant by preparing." Sherlock chuckled.

"That demoness powered up like this too. You should have warned us before doing this. Our trauma almost came back just now."

"Trauma?" Leyvi blinked.

He stared at Sherlock for a moment before finally recalling what he meant.

"Oh right. The demoness you seniors fought in the past. My bad."

"Haha. I'm just joking. Don't worry about it." Sherlock said.

Sherlock immediately turned toward one of the demonic beasts. There was no more time to waste. He guessed that Leyvi would not be able to remain in this enhanced state for very long.

“Alright, Leyvi. Let’s start with this crocodile first. Make sure to form your mind avatar so I can see you inside.”

Leyvi hesitated slightly, then nodded. He had only ever formed his mind avatar inside his own sea of consciousness, but it should not be too difficult.

“Enter ten seconds after… now!” Sherlock said, and at once sent his spiritual sense into the crazed demonic crocodile’s sea of consciousness.

The moment he entered, Sherlock was greeted by the intense emotion of hatred directed at humans.

He was already familiar with this sensation, however, so he ignored it and immediately formed his mind avatar.

A figure resembling Sherlock appeared within the sea of consciousness. Right after that, he executed a soul-searching technique designed to stabilize the space.

Ten seconds later, Sherlock felt the space tremble slightly. He could tell that Leyvi had also entered the sea of consciousness.

A few seconds after that, he saw an avatar beginning to form nearby. It wobbled unsteadily as it took shape.
