Misty’s fear of GIANT bugs is very warranted! I would commit sepoku if I went to the Pokemon or wizarding world for the same reason. If someone says you had to go to a fantasy world and you’re scared of bugs, tell them to shove it!

Verdant Range

Now that Dogasu has done this episode, we can say Misty not thinking Venonat's a bug type was a dubism. Originally, she said to the effect of, "I see. I guess you have to depend on them."

Jaina Shadows

Honestly, I thought this was one of the most interesting Pokemon caught by Ash and his companions. I think this was one of the first instances to show that Pokemon aged like any other animal (the surfing Pikachu was the other one). Also, I know he's not your favorite Suede, but Tracey is one of my favorites, so that probably also helped.

Nefrekeptah

I maintain that Syther is way cooler than Scizor - a giant mantis with blades for arms is much more impressive then a red whatever-it's-supposed to be with boring pincher hands. Plus, scythes are more badass than scissors.
