While I was making a certain part of the game, an idea hit me. To make sprites that are basically characters that you will see in the game. 

These sprites are harder and more time consuming to make, but can offer more customization than regular ones can.

Pros:

Offer massive customization potential 

If done correctly, smoother animation

Is basically character you will see in the picture and animation 

Cons: 

VERY time consuming. 

Old sprites pros and cons:

Pros: 

Quick and easy sprites

Decent looking

Cons:

Generic characters
