Ole

Man...I haven’t even watched it yet. Wanted to look at the comments first and I find that existence is just fine. @Astartes u Sir, make people happy and thats a good thing. Ok youtube...here I go...

Anonymous

So so breathtaking! The stabbing scene, omg so perfectly executed! Eyegasm to the highest level!

Pale_Blue

DUDE, Dude dude you got it. Your mystery of the subject matter is only matched by my frustration with GW to hire you and make you the boss. There, I said it.

Anonymous

Oh man that was TENSE.

Anonymous

The subtle go nod, the rapid fire bolter on the rail and the recoil animation, the shield interaction with jet ammo and exploding after timeout, the bolt pistol edging past the shield, the eye piece cracking, the knife through the face, the fact that these dudes are so boss that they don't high five after the kill. Dude you nailed every little bit of it.

Tom fox gauntley

It’s about god damn time I started supporting you brilliant work.

Anonymous

Just upped my patreon subscription from $2 to 10$ a month. this is insane.

Anonymous

Completely worth the wait - awesome!!

Sean S Murray

No need for Apologies, you're doing the Emperor's work. Take all the time that is required!

eathr349

...damn, how is it that theres 2 guys with magic powers and the scariest guys are the ones wielding knives?

Anonymous

Um... why hasn't GW reached out to, oh, I don't know, give you all the funding an rights you need to run a studio for this project. I would pay good money for a full feature length season of this.

TruckinAlong

dude this is the best fucking w40k media I have ever seen in my life. Words do not describe how fucking cool it is. Its a shame you dont get the support you deserve.

LoreData

You're setting the bar for any new 40k work released after this. Take all the time you need to make it right. Better to delay than release something not up to your standards. Through you, the Emperor does his blessed work. This was the most intense one yet. I loved how you distinguished the two Masked Men by their eyes. And through the conflict we're beginning to be able to distinguish the Marines by the damage they've received. I love the framing and zooming in and out to emphasize focus or break thereof. The ammo counters resetting when a fresh mag is inserted ( the 01 to 31 therefore means they had a round chambered). It was refreshing to see the Marine toss the plasma pistol aside when it malfunctioned (presumed overheat) rather than have it explode as a plot device.

Infinite

This is flawless, gripping work. Please make moire!!

Anonymous

Just saw this and went here to subscribe. Just a little, ofc you deserve more, but man, you're just GREAT.

Dan Weber

Increased my pledge. Truly amazing work. So good. So good.

Anonymous

I hope those guys up on the balcony are OK.

Ri Souza

You sir is a God. Please accept my humble contribution.

Anonymous

Too nice to be the real. Post content and take my money! Are There any ideas for five part? And pls post some screenshots for a background.

Lintz

you did it again, the absolute madman

Anonymous

You promised some stabbing and you delivered. Even though it wasn't a straight-up melee fight it was still fantastic. I do have one criticism, the low to the ground second running scene could have been different. I would have liked it a lot more with a long-distant side shot of them engaged where the astartes is about to stab the psyker in the neck. You wouldn't see the other astartes approaching yet in the shot and it would make you think he's not going to make it in time. As opposed to using the depth perception to do that. This would have replaced the 2 second running scene at 1:26. I think it might have made the approach seem a bit more nail bitingly dramatic (On top of making a great screenshot for a background). Seeing you already had a running scene in the beginning with the first astartes. But that's just my opinion, over all your attention to detail with all the other little aspects was awesome. Keep up the great work. The Allfather is smiling no doubt about it ha ha ha ha.

Anonymous

The direction of this series is really, really impressive. You have a very bright future ahead if this is the kind of work you can complete all on your own.

Anonymous

The shot of the stab at the end with the blood red eye is Wallpaper material

Anonymous

Absolutely amazing

Anonymous

great shit man, I told you Im coming here. Love it all!!

Lanh Vo

Love it!

Anonymous

Hello there Astartes creators! I know this isnt the most professional way to contact you but I wanted to talk to you about potentially helping me and our team on a 40k Game we are creating. If you would be interested please get back to me! Also these things are Amazing! Seriously keep up the epic work.

Anonymous

What’s the chapters name

Nineel

This was phenominal, your entire series is. This is by far the best representation of Space Marines I've ever seen. 10/10 take my money I need more!

Anonymous

Hnnng, those bolter sounds. 110 effort!

John O

God damn man...that's just amazing.

Anonymous

I have been waiting forever to so a 40k representation that was accurate to the way it is in my mind. Been a 40k nerd since I was 10. You have a gift, and such a great capture of the grit of the combat.

Anonymous

You're one of the best options to spend my money on. Keep on doing awesome stuff!

Tesseract

I'm going to have to ask to know more about the masked guys. Psykers? Were those the only two?

Anonymous

Hey man new patron here I love your work I should of done it sooner you deserve every penny of it. Why haven’t you considered making a full movie??

astartesfilm

Thank you sir! Overheated, I don't believe in Astartes quality Plasma weapons exploding unless damaged or put under extreme stress.

astartesfilm

Thanks Dakota! I basically have no spare time for awhile between Astartes and day jobs but shoot me a PM on here if you like :)

astartesfilm

From a sub caste of the ruling elite/nobility responsible for the rebellion in the sector. Retributors have encountered their kind before and developed tactics...

Anonymous

Honestly, I should've been throwing money at you since part 2. You're doing the Emperor's work.

Ehren Burton

I'm so glad I'm a Patreon and I can support your work!

Anonymous

Released right on my Birthday you absolute legend!! I had my hopes but I wasn't sure you'd release it in time. Such an awesome present man, congrats on creating such an enduring piece of art and legacy within the Sci-Fi/ 40k

Joshua Crager

The holy oil worked, brother! Praise the Emperor!

Anonymous

This is the definitive version of space marines. Of all the media out there, you've captured them best. Great work.

Anonymous

You have done better service to the idea of what an Astartes should be than any other cinematic that has ever been made. I hope someday you can give Grey Knight's and SoB the same treatment. Bravo. Keep up the fantastic work!

Jake Lastname

This was absolutely fantastic. Exactly what fighting a squad of the Emperor's Angels of Death should feel like. Thank you so much!

Anonymous

Damn dude, these get better and better with every episode. Keep up the incredible work!

Max Fredriksson

Jesus mf. My Adrenaline levels is so high right now. What a cliffhanger though. Can't wait to part 5.

Zodiac

Очень атмосферно, хорошая работа.

Tim

Holy crap dude, that's so fucking epic

Anonymous

Brilliant, amazing, please don´t stop like " Lord Inquisitor " please T.T

Anonymous

Stunning work! It‘s the best depiction of animated Space Marine action out there:)

Anonymous

I joined patreon to support your work! I can't wait for Part 5 and WHAT'S IN THE VAULT?!

Anonymous

Your work is AWESOME!! I purposely join patreon and contribute by donation just give you my upmost support for your EXCELLENT work. Let us know if anyway we could help to make this into a full fledge movie.

Anonymous

If i could advice you further, it would be give us more option on contribution like 25, 50, 100, 200 or more with possible a full movie tie-in or 40k freebies. I dont mind paying for those stuff as we could see your hardwork producing such stunning piece of art. Just saying

astartesfilm

I'll give it some thought! I like the idea but I also like putting all spare time towards the episodes.

Anonymous

This is some of... no the best 40k animation I have ever seen. You get across so much without saying a single word. Part one showing the scale of a space marine, 2 and 3 showing how well they face off against normal (but competent humans) and now how they go against an actual threat. The details are amazing, your work is amazing... Keep this up man

Anonymous

This is so incredible! Please don´t change a thing in your style, writing or whatever. I love how there is no stupid talking, all feels SO Astartes!

Anonymous

Hey man ever since I was like 6 I got into 40k and fell in love with it. I loved palying games like Down of War but actually doing table top well is expensive stuff lol. Seeing your quality in your work and how much you care for the details makes my life feel even better knowing someone knows how to do this right. GW needs to give you a high budget movie with a good story for you and to let you have at it and show everyone how awesome 40k really is. I hope my ten bucks a month helps man. Anything to help you out. Hell if I was a millionaire I'd try to work something out with GW to get you on your way to making something big lol.

Anonymous

Seriously man. Thank you for bringing your talent out for 40k when hardly anyone else is <3

jeffh4

Exceeded expectations, as always! I do have a couple of criticisms. The very first shot of the two protector units shown from high above. The shadows around the left unit jump around for no apparent reason. Also, their movements are a bit choppy, especially the rotation of the right unit.

Nicholas Lim

the 4k stream totally makes things much better on youtube albeit still seeing some compression artefacts, totally awesome job dude! Respect!

astartesfilm

Yep uploading at 4k helped a lot but some things like dark smooth foggy areas will always get hurt by Youtube :( Glad you liked it!

Anonymous

Also are those word Bearer psykers?

Anonymous

I stumbled across your movie today. Awesome work! I like lighting, camera moving, drama, smoke sim, animation, sfx! Keep it up! Really good product!

Kimio

I am positively am in Awe, from start to finish your grasp on solid cinematography and excellent pacing of action sequences is astounding. I found myself slowing the video down just so that I could appreciate all the small nuances and details you put into these. Such as the scorch marks on the Plasma pistol wielding marine that came from the las-miniguns (not sure their actual name) in the previous video. Please, never apologize for the time it takes to complete these. Every second I believe is well worth the wait for something of this quality. If I could pledge more, I likely would. Sublime my friend, I eagerly await the next installment of this series of yours. You've got some supremely amazing talent! Please keep up the awesome work!

Anonymous

After watching part 4 today i joined patreon just to support the project. Fantastic work!!!

ParisGreenTrout

Pretty sure they lived, watch the last 10 seconds or so of the video. You can see the squad members approaching from the dark parts of the left side of the screen.

Anonymous

Guys, it's so good ! After watching part 4, I join to patreon. I want support you.

ParisGreenTrout

Just so I have this straight in my head, 5 marine team breaches the target vessel. 5 marines on screen at the end of part 4. 0 KIA?

Anonymous

You're not only the best 40k animator I've ever seen, you're also one of the best independent fan-film animators I've ever seen. The Emperor bless your soul brother!

Anonymous

Hello there! Apparently I had an account? Anyway. I was just wondering if there's some way to contact you directly as I really wouldn't mind putting down a few of my own full work days to help out with the project? I've got the most time to do 2D/Material based work (3D takes too long, and I wish I could). I'm not expecting anything in return, just wanting to help out.

RPGeode

Jaw-droppingly good. It's so rare to have everything in an animation be good. It's not just that the animation is incredible. The shot choices are epic, the sound design is amazing. Just wow. Do you have any other work I could look at?

Micky Mac

where do you get inspiration for things like holding the guns against the rail to stop them from climbing on full auto? Do you play the table top version? If so I'd love to see your army.

astartesfilm

Thank you Azaan! I might take you up on your offer when I have a more complete idea of what I need for the next part :)

astartesfilm

Cheers Jon! This is the first animation like this I've attempted so not much else to show haha.

astartesfilm

Hm I can't remember what inspired that but felt like a practical but also cool detail to add. Collected a few minis over the years but never actually played the table top game much!

Anonymous

If there was anyone who should be directing a Warhammer 40k movie or series adaptation of the Horus Heresy, it's you man!

Anonymous

More than worth waiting for, superb! part 4 is so good!

Anonymous

Ok, I gotta ask: I swear that I can hear the Marine Sgt grunting/screaming inside his armor around where the eyepiece cracks. Am I imagining it?

Aliev Leon

Hahahaah now i can hear it too. Is it when he started firing inside the protection shield?

Anonymous

Because of your great work i joined Patreon! Thanks and Emperor bless!

Rico da Rooster

The wait was worth it. I think I accidentally blew my socks off watching it...

Anonymous

The first and only Patreon I will ever sub to, thank you for putting out insane quality work and doing the 40k universe and fanbase proud!

Joshua Pittman

I have been evangelizing this series to everyone I know! Absolutely amazing! It's like you pulled a vision of 40k straight out of my imagination!

Anonymous

Just become a patreon..... stunning work !

Anonymous

I became a Patron right after seeing part 4. Please take my money!! Have you been contacted yet by GW? I hope your name/brand becomes just as well known as Dan Abnett or ADB because your contribution to the 40k universe is of similar top tier quality!

Anonymous

You are great, man. Would really like to see MOAR of it.

Anonymous

You should consider $100 pledge variant with "Just take them!"

Anonymous

Oh wow, the sound design on this one in particular is just so good.

Anonymous

You are really doing a great job, congrats!

Anonymous

Dude, you should really consider making a full fledged movie, honest to Emperor! This is W40K as it should be. Brilliant work. After you finish the series, start a Kickstarter for the movie. You have to.

Anonymous

Sweet jesus this is well made, I dont understand why GW doesnt hire you on the spot to make a movie.

Anonymous

Great stuff, I love the design on the cult psykers or whatever they are. I'd absolutely buy a model if that were somehow possible and wouldn't get you in hot water.

Virgiliu

O M G. I love it! :D And that Astartes is gaining popularity makes me happy!

PunchieCWG

It was amazing! I love these videos, I did not realise you had a patreon until this last one. You deserve all the praise. Ave Imperator!

John O

What are those two psykers??

Mike J

If ep 5 has a Primarch or a lost Primarch. People are going to lost there minds. Keep the content coming and we love the work. You brought the hype and delivered. Maybe you could give a class to bethesda on fallout 76 :)

Tim

Those psy blasts seemed pretty beefy, but i can't help but to doubt they actually harmed the marines in any significant way.

Tim

I love the coordination on their assault. Really shows off their tactical prowess.

lol32

i am reading some coments about finding a Primarch , although i dont know what is inside the vault, i am quite sure it wont be a Primarch , those psiquers were really powerfull, but you would expect an army way more powerfull to protect something like a "captured" Primarch. that is my opinión but this guy knows what he is doing so whatever is inside the vault it Will be nothing but great.

Anonymous

They just keep getting better - unfrikking believable, PLEASE keep up the great work - can't wait for the next instalment.

Holly Blackler

Blown away by the quality. The movement is hypnotizing.

Anonymous

Man, I was overwhlemed by the quality and amount of detail of the first three parts and thought you couldn't possibly improve. But I'm glad I was wrong! :D Just some small nitpicking after watching Part 4 30 times. It looks like the Astartes Combat Knife switches hands from left to right before it enters the skull of the psyker.

LoreData

The genius of this video really comes to shine at .25 playback. Also, pausing and using comma and period keys to advance the frames. You'll see that the left hand moves down to the pommel of the knife while the right grips near the hilt.

Anonymous

Hello there, i'm in the 40k universe since 3rd edition and man your videos are jawdropping. It's getting to such an epic level that i can't wait for the 5th episode. I have to say that i don't want it to be ended there... In all those years i haven't seen someone depicting the 40k universe (space marines) so good as you did here. You put the level really high. Just keep up with the amazing work. It's a blessing to have guys like you to give life to our beloved universe. Thanks for everything! Kind regards from Belgium.

Virgiliu

Yessss! It amazes me that Games Workshop haven't reached out to get the ball rolling.

Anonymous

Hi - New subscriber here! I'm a budding 3D artist/animator, and would be very interested in the tools you use to create these animations. I'm blown away. You've really captured how dangerous and powerful space marines are.

Marc-Andre de Looz

My right arm is broke so slow typing. You are incredibly talented and I'm so happy to help support your work! keep it up!

Santtu Poikonen

This is beyond amazing! I don't know Warhammer 40K that well. Enought to recognize the main fellas, but that's it. Don't know if the bad guys are part of the lore, but even without knowing anything about this, I understood what they were and what they could do and what was happening - without dialogue. That's quite excellent visual story telling. On top of that, the cinematography and sound design is top notch! Hopefully we'll get stuff like this in longer format in cinemas some day. Even as 20-30 min short movie with this level of care would be quite something.

Anonymous

I have a question about the boltguns that you have modelled. I like the overall design of them, they look more complex than the insanely bulky ones normally depicted, which is fitting since the Astartes only gets the best equipment. However, they seem almost too small. Bolt rounds must require a large explosive charge to be able to propel it fast enough since they have a calibre of .75 (20mm), but when seeing how fast they can fire, I almost expected the gun to explode from the pressure it had to be undergoing. As said before, I like the new design, but why make it so small? Other than that, amazing work. Keep it up ;) Also, Congratulations on making it too HOT #17 on Youtube!

Voers

You are truly awesome

Anonymous

I am truly in awe of your talent. Your grasp of the 40K universe is excellent. The visual aesthetic is spot on, and the sound design complements it perfectly. Your skills in cinematography are also right up there. Chapter Master Valrak over on Youtube has described you as the Picasso of animated fan projects, and he isn't wrong. I look forward eagerly to seeing what you produce next. Keep up the good work.

Anonymous

Like many others here, I am also left wondering why GW hasn't contacted you yet. If I was in charge of the IP over there, I would be bugging you all the time to make this animation officially for Games Workshop, with whatever budget and resources you required. With material of this quality, any outlay would easily be made back, and the increase visibility of the IP would priceless to the company.

Ehren Burton

Have you thought about advertising your Patreon after your videos? I'm sure many would like to support you but without the "call to action," it probably doesn't register.

Anonymous

This is by far the most amazing work in animation in any realm of fiction I have ever seen. The quality, the design, the deliver, the tension, the ability to make filmography. And you have managed to do this for Astartes, the Angels of Death, in such a way that has done the true depiction complete justice. I salute you sir. I take my hat off. I bow down to your talents as a humble fan. You need to crowd fund or kick start this project from 5 mini episodes to a feature long film. I am hooked and I would want to see hours and hours of your work.

Anonymous

Yeah, what battle brother Matthew said.

Ravnholt

this is amazing work! I know I keep repeating myself, but this is the best representation of Astartes in visual media to date T_T perfectly deadly and frightningly focused warriors.

Craig Davis

I just found all of these today from imgur and was blown away by the quality and thematic experience. Can't wait for more

Anonymous

Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication. What you have created is incredible and never fails to give me goosebumps, no matter how many times I watch it. Can't wait to see your next triumph!

Anonymous

This was absolutely amazing. I just saw them all today. Had to pitch in and help support this. I love it. The last episode especially. The tension and feel was just incredible. Games Workshop should hire you to make a full length movie. Stunning.

Anonymous

Good Good Good and 54 times again Good job ! at least i find the power of Spaces Marines i could read but never find in games or others videos. I even had troubles for the 2 poors (but powerful) guys at the end ^^ You are amazing. Thanks

Anonymous

Saw this and had to become a Patron. Bravo. Games Workshop is making the biggest mistake of their lives by not immediately giving you a movie deal.

Anonymous

Fantastik work! I did not find info about part 5, when?

Anonymous

this episode rocked!
