Every Aiteri house crest is more than a decorative symbol—it records the house’s history, rank, origin, and vassal ties.

The color of the outer border indicates the house’s rank: gold for a Great House, silver for a Middle House, and bronze for a Minor House. Rank is also shown by the number of identical elements radiating symmetrically from the center of the crest: six for a Great House, three for a Middle House, and none for a Minor House.

A central star means that the house was founded on Aetris. Houses founded on other colonies do not bear one.

A small emblem of the Council of Eternals is placed at the top of the crest, at the twelve o’clock position, if an Eternal has ever been born into the house. If the house is a vassal, the small emblem of its suzerain is placed at the bottom, at the six o’clock position.

Stars along the outer border represent the age of the house—one star for every millennium of recorded history. These stars are never placed at the twelve or six o’clock positions.

In the Dominion, a coat of arms does not merely identify a house. It reveals its rank, its origins, its history, and its place within the hierarchy of Aiteri society.
