Hi everyone! Quick update: I’ve been working on an Amiga 1200, recapping the motherboard and replacing the old capacitors. It wasn’t the easiest job since the original solder seems to have very little lead, so removing the parts took some effort.

I also installed a Compact Flash card in place of the hard drive and I’m setting up Workbench on it. An RTC is installed as well and soon I’ll be adding an accelerator and expansion card 😎

I know how hard some components can be to replace. I used my big soldering gun with wicking braid, and even then some of the caps were also glued to the board. I'm not sure what some manufacturers were thinking.

You are a smart cookie, Sayaka ☺️ The 1200 was always my favourite Amiga 😍

Thanks for the update, very very interesting and cool 😎. I never had an Amiga in the past, but now I preordered “The A1200”, it will arrive in June this year. Ciaoooo 👋🏻

Brilliant! The A1200 is my favourite machine. I'm a huge Amiga fan - have all variants of the Amiga but the A1200 has always been my favourite. Currently my A1200 is housed in the special edition CD32 case, with special edition GoEx, Terrible Fire 1260 (full 060) which my friend Stephen created, a Bifrost, a Solus lighting kit that my friend Rob created etc. Love it. I've got some pics of my set up here if you're at all interested lol https://www.jmcdonline.com/
