Hey all!

Figured I'd drop by to give a quick update.

The release of v0.6.1 on Monday wrapped up the "6" iteration for good... so we're moving on to... 7... oh god I swear this was never supposed to be a 67 joke.

Ahem. Moving on.

As I've mentioned before, v0.7.0 will focus heavily on Verity's doggystyle pose. However, between the releases of v0.6.0 and v0.6.1, a couple of amazing people reached out to volunteer for translation duty - specifically for Brazilian Portuguese (which happens to be my mother tongue!) and Russian.

I hadn't really looked into how Ren'Py handles translations before this. I only had a vague understanding that it had a handy built-in system to make things relatively painless. So, while I was on bug watch for the past few patches, I started diving into how it works. I've been working on backend systems that will make translating into heavily gendered languages like Portuguese and Russian much easier. I also modified a few variable names to make them more intuitive and self-explanatory, which will hopefully make translators' lives much easier in the future.

For the past few days, that backend prep is what I've been focused on. Today, I finally started working on the actual code structure and logic for the doggystyle scene! I will probably pivot to the art side of things next week, though, because it's practically impossible to code the in-engine animations without having the 2D assets in hand to reference.

Once I have a few presentable assets, I'll be sure to post sneak-peek of my progress.

Thank you all for your continued support, and with any luck, I'll see you all next week.

Cheers,

Mr. Crowne.

I'm happy about every single update. But russian?? Big yikes. Don't support and don't understand that decision...

Mister Crowne

I understand where you're coming from, given the current global situation, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I'd like to make it clear that this isn't meant to be a political statement or an endorsement of any government's actions. A community member simply reached out and kindly volunteered to translate the game into their native language. My goal is just to make the game accessible to as many individual players as possible. Russian is spoken by millions of everyday people, and I'd imagine many of them don't support the war and are just looking for a fun escape through games like this one. Thank you so much for supporting the game, and I hope you understand my decision.
