AGT Gameplay V8 continues the overhaul of FC gameplay with major improvements to player movement, sprinting, stamina, animations, physical responsiveness, and match-rating evaluation.
The goal of this update is to make every action feel more dependent on the player’s attributes, body position, momentum, stamina, and your own controller input not on automatic assistance or forced animations from the original game.
What’s New in V8:
More Distinct and Realistic Running Styles
Every running style has been further differentiated.
Players with different running styles should no longer feel as though they are using the same movement system with only a slightly different animation. Each running style now has a more recognizable rhythm, body posture, stride pattern, cadence, and sense of weight.
Fast-cadence players will still feel sharp and explosive, while slower or heavier running styles will feel more deliberate and physically committed.
This creates greater individuality between players and makes their movement more closely match their body type and animation style.
Further Player Movement and Sprinting Overhaul
Player locomotion, acceleration, sprinting, turning, and movement transitions have received another major overhaul.
Movement should now feel heavier and more physically believable. Players must commit their body weight when accelerating, changing direction, or stopping after a sprint.
Fast players remain dangerous, but they should no longer feel weightless or appear to skate across the pitch. Stronger and heavier players should feel more planted, while smaller and more agile players remain responsive without ignoring momentum.
The aim is to make controlling each player feel more unique instead of giving every player the same hidden movement behavior.
More Realistic and Fair Match Ratings
The match-rating system has been reworked to evaluate every position more fairly.
This is different from the match-rating changes in AGT Ultimate All in One:
AGT Ultimate All in One changes ratings for simulated matches.
AGT Gameplay changes ratings during matches that you actually play.
In the original game, defenders and goalkeepers are often treated unfairly.
A team can win with a clean sheet, yet its centre-backs and goalkeeper may still receive low ratings because they did not make enough tackles, blocks, or saves. The game often fails to recognize that defenders may have performed well precisely because they prevented the opposition from creating chances.
Attackers receive the opposite treatment. A forward can play poorly for most of the match but still receive a very high rating after scoring one goal. Repeated missed chances, failed dribbles, inaccurate shots, offsides, and wasted attacks often do not reduce the rating enough.
V8 begins correcting this imbalance.
Attackers will now be judged more carefully for:
Missing high-quality chances
Sending shots off target
Repeatedly losing the ball while dribbling
Making badly timed offside runs
Wasting possession
Relying on shot volume instead of efficiency
Scoring despite an otherwise poor overall performance
Goals are still extremely valuable, but scoring once will no longer automatically erase every mistake made during the rest of the match.
Defenders and goalkeepers now have a fairer rating foundation. A defender who protects space, prevents shots, maintains the defensive line, and contributes to a clean sheet should no longer require constant emergency tackles just to avoid a poor rating.
A goalkeeper should also not receive an unfairly low rating simply because the defense prevented the opponent from taking shots.
The objective is simple:
Equivalent performances in different positions should have an equivalent path to a high match rating.
Faster and More Input-Driven Passing and Shooting Animations
Passing and shooting animation activation has been made more responsive.
In the original game, pressing pass or shoot does not always trigger the action immediately. The game may delay the input while it tries to automatically reposition the player, select a cleaner body angle, adjust the feet, or find what it considers the “best” animation.
This can make actions feel slow, assisted, repetitive, and disconnected from the player’s actual position.
In V8, passing and shooting animations should trigger more directly from your input.
The animation used will depend more heavily on:
Your current body position
The direction the player is facing
The player’s balance
The position of the ball
The selected foot
Defensive pressure
The timing of your input
The game will do less automatic correction before the action.
This means you may produce a clean pass from a good position, but an awkward pass from a poor body angle. A rushed shot may use an unstable animation instead of the game automatically fixing the player’s feet before striking the ball.
This should create much more variety in passing and shooting animations while making every action feel more connected to your own input.
Complete Stamina and Energy Overhaul
The stamina system has been redesigned around physical effort, recovery, and cumulative workload.
Sprinting should now feel like a physical commitment instead of simply draining an arcade-style stamina bar.
A winger can accelerate past a fullback, maintain the run for a believable distance, release sprint, and gradually recover while jogging or holding position.
The player will not immediately return to maximum explosiveness, but their short-term burst reserve will rebuild naturally when they reduce their workload.
Repeated efforts still matter.
A midfielder who presses an opponent, tracks a runner, joins the attack, and immediately counter-presses will gradually lose explosiveness. However, this decline should happen through accumulated workload rather than one short sprint destroying the player’s movement for the next phase.
The stamina system is now built around:
Explosive effort
Recovery between actions
Cumulative physical workload
Tactical energy management
Player attribute differences
Progressive late-match decline
Pressure Tactics Now Have Real Consequences
Pressure tactics should now feel like tactical decisions rather than free permanent boosts.
Partial team press remains usable but carries a real stamina cost.
Full pressure cannot be left active for the entire match without consequences.
Ball-side overloads progressively tire the players involved.
Repeated pressing reduces late-match acceleration and recovery.
Capped stamina multipliers prevent the entire team from unrealistically reaching zero energy too early.
Teams can still press aggressively, but they must manage when and how they use it.
More Attribute-Driven Defensive Movement
Defensive reactions and marking movement now depend more strongly on defensive attributes.
High-awareness defenders should:
Recognize dangerous runs sooner
Begin marking acceleration earlier
Close half-spaces more intelligently
React more quickly to attackers moving between the lines
Maintain better defensive positioning
Lower-awareness defenders may hesitate, recognize danger later, or react after the attacker has already gained an advantage.
This should reduce the original game’s feeling that every defender receives the same hidden recovery acceleration or automatic correction.
Elite defenders should feel intelligent because of their attributes, not because the game gives every defender the same assistance.
More Meaningful Weak-Foot Actions
Weak-foot quality should now be more physically visible.
A player with a poor weak foot may need to:
Open their hips before passing
Take an additional touch
Move the ball back onto the preferred foot
Use a slower or less stable contact animation
Sacrifice speed or accuracy when forced to act immediately
Weak-foot passes under pressure may lose pace or accuracy, while weak-foot shots may produce less stable contact.
The game should be less likely to automatically select a clean, assisted animation that hides a player’s weak-foot limitation.
Players with strong weak-foot ratings will remain more reliable and versatile.
Heavier and Less Magnetic Skill Moves
Skill moves have been made heavier and more dependent on player quality.
Average players should no longer chain sharp turns and complex skill moves as if momentum does not exist.
First-time tricks and difficult directional changes now carry more execution risk. Players with lower dribbling, agility, balance, or skill-move ability may lose control when attempting overly ambitious combinations.
Elite dribblers remain expressive and responsive, but that responsiveness must now be earned through their attributes.
This should create a clearer difference between:
Elite technical dribblers
Quick but less technical players
Strong ball carriers
Average players attempting difficult moves
Tired players trying to chain repeated skills
Skill moves should feel like deliberate physical actions rather than magnetic animation sequences.
Power Shot Speed Fixed
The excessively fast power-shot speed from the previous version has been corrected.
The exaggerated speed was originally used as a temporary testing tool so I could immediately confirm whether the gameplay mod had loaded correctly.
I accidentally left that testing value enabled in the released version.
Power shots should now return to a more realistic and balanced speed while remaining powerful when executed correctly.
Overall V8 Experience
AGT Gameplay V8 is designed to create a heavier, more responsive, more physical, and more intelligent gameplay experience.
The update focuses on:
More distinct player movement
Greater running-style individuality
More responsive passing and shooting
Less automatic animation correction
More realistic stamina and recovery
Meaningful pressing consequences
Better defensive attribute differentiation
More noticeable weak-foot limitations
Heavier skill moves
Fairer match ratings across every position
Less attacker-biased evaluation
Corrected power-shot speed
There may also be smaller changes included that I applied during development but have forgotten to list individually. However, the major V8 improvements are covered above.
