Hey everyone!

Hannah and James here to let you know about about two cool things happening here on the MCDM Patreon!

Free ARCADIA Adventure

"The Workshop Watches" adventure by Leon Barillaro from ARCADIA 1 was a hit when the first issue launched and continues to be one of the magazine's most beloved articles. We're giving it away for free so everyone can get a taste of ARCADIA. The short adventure for 5th-level characters about a sentient magic workshop is attached to this public post! Feel free to tell your friends who aren't part of the Patreon to come grab it.

Free Beastheart for Topaz Tier Patrons

If you've been thinking about joining the MCDM Patreon or upgrading your Master of Locusts Tier pledge to the Topaz Tier, now is the perfect time. Until October 31st, all Topaz Tier patrons (new and old alike) can grab a free copy of Beastheart and Monstrous Companions. The product will live on this linked post until October 31, 2022. Go download it now!

Might be nice to add this (and any similar posts) to the Arcadia file library & collection. Looks like the "Free Content" tag was only ever used once, on this post.

This adventure is a freaking blast and I'm glad everyone is getting it.

Lucas Chiesa

Yes, we loved playing this adventure... And now SAM is a party member :)

I work running DnD games for neurodiverse young people with a focus around social skills. I've run the workshop watches with a few groups now and it's the perfect 1shot for them. Being able to use Sam's voice (rather than my own) to question their interactions with each other works wonderfully

This is so wonderful to hear! <3

I ran this module for the first time a month ago and it was a huge hit! I was able to slot it into our homebrew setting with almost no fuss. Sam was a very interesting character and the players loved them. A favorite moment, after Sam learned about the lethality of gravity, and that Amari Bacci would likely hunt SAM since he funded the research, Sam said: "Perhaps we should gravity Master Amari?"

Grokka

Yea I actually have run this as both a player and a DM, will probably use it in future for other groups when I need something short. I was shocked by how many people favor letting SAM off the hook for mass murder...but given what adventurers do for a living I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Is the company called Leon Barillaro. Is that like designer game products?

Lennart Peters

Leon Barillaro is a writer who has written some stuff for MCDM. You can find him on barilleon(dot)com.

As a Patron since ARCADIA Issue #01 i've been holding off on the switch. But this was my sign to move up!

mcdm

Leon is the designer who wrote this adventure for ARCADIA!

The timing of this is hilarious, since I just (mostly) finished running The Workshop Watches last Saturday with my group. I say mostly because through Player shenanigans (read: The BEST shenanigans!), they ended up picking a fight with S.A.M. before they'd actually explored most of the facility. So they might do some exploring and find little noodle-y hooks I left to connect to our larger campaign. Or not! But the overall scenario was a HIT. Plus, as a DM, S.A.M. was hilariously fun to run. 10/10, will run again, first chance I get.

Also, just to confirm: I'm assuming the fact that Locusts was retired means that if I upgrade to Topaz this month, I won't be able to DOWNgrade back to Locusts in the future, correct? It's not necessarily a deal-breaker for me, but it does need to be part of the mental calculus of my decision. I've been meaning to buy Beastheart, anyway, so I also may just take this opportunity to get around to doing that, instead.
