  • What do you find yourself printing the most? What place does 3d-printing have in your tabletop hobby??

As the channel is continuing to grow and things are looking more and more like I will be able to keep making videos for a long while, I just want to gauge YOU'RE interests.

I ask this not only from a video content standpoint, but also from the perspective of the monthly bases.

I will always endeavor to make videos about things I am excited about, giving tips, tricks and ideas applicable to all 3d-printing ~ But I want to make sure the things I am making outside of videos, such as the monthly bases, are things you all are excited about and excited to use.

Cheers,
Jacob | Painted4Combat

Not going great though even with tweaked settings just doesn’t compare to resin especially as I paint for display level

Ultimatedude80

So I do alot of projects that aren't mini related but recently have been doing 40k stuff but most of what I print has nothing to do with tabletop

Neil Woodbridge

I mainly print terrain for board games such as malediction, runar etc

Mike

I’d love to see an updated bust video to see how much your process has changed since the first one you did.

codechemist

Definitely terrain for my dnd campaign, followed by miniatures. I’ve been really digging the Dungeon Blocks sets. Currently painting up some of the majestic highlands set for an upcoming encounter.

Weasel

Just found the channel. I love printing terrain for 40k. I really like your videos on resin supports. I feel like yours were the most enjoyable to watch. Can't wait to see how those evolve.

Boden

I do One Page Rules & miniature agnostic games. Fantasy or sci-fi doesn't matter. Terrain is cool to.

John Hickey

I mainly 3D print Busts, statues, etc. Never been big on the Table Top Gaming thing. But I do love some of the minis and will scale them up to paint them from time to time.

Shaun Cugley

Battletech both terrain ( 3d pieces of the standard battlemaps and mechs though I'm having issues with my P1S failing to print mechs.

Paul

I don’t play any tabletop gaming but print minis (usually scaled up) and busts to learn to paint.

Mike's Magic Miniatures

I print a ton of terrain lately. I’ve also started printing more sci-fi themed miniatures.

Geoffrey Poleur

I’m printing the Dragon’s Rest Quest Board to play heroquest in 3D and some figures (with resin2fdm), Terrain, minis from arbiters miniatures for Heroquest

Lizzy Kohler

Borderline useless tool holders that I designed and casted away 3 days after printed because I think of another design

Gillies Sim

Terrain for a variety of periods and settings. Currently making a heroquest board using openlock. Using FDG figures. Also 2mm napoleonic armies from forward march studios and special forces operators from quartermaster.

Hayato Ken

Terrain for Infinity and various other games, except 40k/AOS (and it bothers me that 40k=SciFi, because there is so much more and better stuff), but also RPG Minis and Terrain.

Kenneth

Miniatures and terrain for Rangers of Shadowdeep, 1490 Doom, Trench Crusade.

Michael Baur

Using a wide range of miniatures and terrain from multiple genres to create dioramas, combined with traditional modelling.

matthew ratcliffe

Mordheim, frostgrave and our fantasy. Just starting to go into printing mintures on a A1 what filament do you recommend.

Jan Monk

I voted D&D/TTRPG minis, but most recently a large terrain project (castle/city walls gatehouse - 'Temple Gate', for any Drakkenheim fans here), and also printing for Trench Crusade has brought me back to wargaming.

Bambu's own matte grey is my favourite filament choice. Grey is the best colour for miniatures, and I have tried other filaments for price but don't rate them as worth the difference. Ease of use and quality on Bambu is outstanding. Get the 2mm hot end and the "Fat Dragon Games profile" ASAP. Study Painted4Combat's Resin2FDM and you will be in a great place with a world of figures available.

I'm currently printing supplemental stuff I never purchased first time round like Marauder Horsemen for my Tzeentchy Chaos 6th Ed Warhammer Fantasy Army; Terrain for an ongoing Battletech Alpha Strike campaign; I'm painting Brite Miniatures Goblins for an Oathmark Army; I like Gridfinity for tool storage, and my wife likes Victoriana Miniature Dollhouses so I print marble filament vases, fountains and statues, as well as furniture for her.

Ysambart Canberra

What is your recommended software? I chose Blender because it is free and there are so many tutorials, but am willing to listen to persuasion.

Ysambart Canberra

Heh, I feel that. I am doing tanks in Blender for Battletech Alpha Strike, and I am up to Mark 16 and am still not happy :)

Michael Baur

I'm not yet fully in Blender, although I can work the Resin2FDM too from Jacob. I still feel a bit more comfortable in Tinkercad and managed to make simple modifications to .stl files...still a lot to learn

nerodia

I don't play any wargames, but scaling up minis makes for some really unique options for display figures. The process for supporting them and the Blender addon help a lot - even if I was doing them in resin, scaling them up means any pre-supports are going to be oversized and leave more scarring, so the process and tools are part of my workflow.

nerodia

I've been having great results with Overture matte white PLA.

Michael Wilson - Joltman_74

technically I’ve printed more One Page Rules - Age of Fantasy minis by number .. but my youngest kid is cranking his way through Warhammer 40K proxies and working our A1 mini hard every weekend.

Andre R

I want to print minis for several rpgs over time e.g. Traveller, or cyberpunk red.
