📍 Informational post for those who have just discovered True Motion, as well as for those who want to learn more about some of its nuances
🔹 The script works properly on all cars, but there are some exceptions. For example, I encountered cars that ignored the offset limiter, which is used to limit camera displacement, since it is configured differently for each car. One car seemed to completely ignore this filter, causing the camera to shift too far. In another case, there was likely a feature enabled that directs the view toward the corner apex. These are the only issues I’ve discovered so far while testing the camera across different cars. In the future, I will try to fix these issues if possible.
🔧 Settings in the script can be adjusted without leaving the game — you can also edit and extend it on the fly
🎬 Replay limitations
🔹 For those who like recording replays — myself included — there is an important limitation.Physics generation in replays is significantly more limited compared to real-time.
🔹 Replays support physics at up to 67Hz, while in real-time the game runs at 333Hz.Because of this, many small bumps and road imperfections are not reproduced by the camera in replays.
🔹 This is a limitation of CSP and most likely the game engine itself, so there’s nothing that can be done about it.In the future, I will make a separate preset for replays, but it’s impossible to fully compensate for real-time camera behavior.
⏱ Development
🔹 I’ve been working on the script for over two months, 12–20 hours a day.🔹 The latest version differs significantly from the one shown in the video.

🔹 Don’t forget to visit my Discord server, where you can ask questions or get help if you run into any issues.
🚧 Ongoing development
🔹 I will continue working on the script, as the current version is still far from the result I have in mind.🔹 I also continue to study a lot of real-life references to catch small details I haven’t worked on yet.
🔹 There is also a possibility that in the future I will create graphical camera shaders for Ppfilters. The main issue is that you can’t use two Ppfilters at the same time, so I’ll also need to work on color correction and additional shaders to match the level of the Ppfilters I currently use.
🔹 A full list of the Ppfilters I use is available in my Discord.
⚙️ Script complexity & optimization
🔹 One of the downsides of the script is that it contains a large number of settings, many of which are interconnected and dependent on each other.Yes, this provides more control, but in the future I plan to do a major cleanup to remove unnecessary settings that put extra load on the PC.
🔹 I also try not to forget about optimization.Tests on low-end and mid-range PCs have been quite successful and did not affect FPS.
🔧 NeckFX elements
🔹 The script still includes some features from NeckFX, which I do not plan to fully remove, since some of them work quite well and add more flexibility for personal tuning.
🔹 For example, velocity align, which I made non-linear (this is the only difference from the original NeckFX version). It controls the direction of the view based on the car’s velocity vector — simply put, it looks in the direction of movement.
🔹 It works in all situations: cornering, drifting, and normal driving — unlike slide following, which only works during drifting and points the view in the direction of the slide.
🎯 Approach & experience
🔹 I really enjoy digging through a large number of settings to achieve the desired result.NeckFX is quite limited compared to the huge potential of Custom Script, but previously I managed to find a decent middle ground for a NeckFX preset — though with many compromises.
🔹 I started working with NeckFX a couple of years ago and since then have been watching real-life footage and studying how cameras behave in other games.
🔹 I was especially impressed by the first-person camera in Star Citizen, which was later improved — although even the earlier version already worked well for me.
🔹 Among racing games, I would highlight:
NFS Shift
GT7
and recently Wreckfest 2, since its first-person camera was updated and is probably one of the most realistic in the racing genre right now
🔹 NFS Shift still looks quite good in terms of first-person camera, but the game itself is arcade, so the camera reflects that.It was mostly memorable for its sense of speed and camera behavior.
🔹 I’m also very impressed with the camera in GT7 — it’s not fully realistic, more of a balance between realism and arcade, and overall I like how it feels. Some mechanics were definitely inspired by it and implemented into my script.
❗️ Important clarification
🔹 I’m not trying to make the camera maximum realistic.Instead, I aim for a balance between realism and playability, so that it’s comfortable to drive while still feeling the behavior of the car.
🔹 Another important detail:Official tracks are created using laser scanning, unlike mod tracks, which are made manually and cannot fully replicate all surface details.
🔹 Huge thanks to creators who pay attention to these details, such as the developers of SRP.
🔹 Because of this, I aim to balance camera behavior between laser-scanned tracks and hand-made tracks.
💡 Personal note
🔹 Writing this script is largely a hobby for me, but thanks to the strong support from subscribers, I now take it much more seriously.Thank you — I’m glad this topic resonates with so many people.
🔹 Currently, my main work is running several YouTube channels where I create content about BeamNG, and I continue to do so.At the same time, I try to work on the script every day.
🔹 I’ve been doing YouTube for 9 years (so don’t be surprised if you’ve seen my videos recommended).
🛋 About my setup & health
🔹 Due to health conditions, I use my PC while lying down, and I also drive using a wheel in the same position — unfortunately not in a cockpit, but on a couch.
🔹 It’s not very convenient, and how my wheel and pedals are mounted is a whole separate story — I can share it on Discord if anyone is interested.
🔹 These are necessary limitations due to intestinal issues caused by an anxiety-depressive disorder, which originated from neurosis.
🔹 I’m currently undergoing treatment, and things are much better now.Antidepressants help, and my weight has improved from 40 kg to 96 kg — before treatment, I could barely eat and felt unwell after any food.
📌 That’s all for now
🔹 This is all the information I wanted to share at the moment. If anything changes, I will update and expand this post accordingly.
