Howdy folks! The Mist Walker subclass has been updated. The changes were mostly focused on deepening the subclass's mechanical theme and making the level 9 feature more significant, as well as a bunch of other balance changes. Check out the changelog below for more details. Remember to provide your feedback!
Early Access Release
♦ Vapor Conduit
- Removed the ability to transform a weapon when you take the Attack action. It's now only as a bonus action.
- Removed mastery from Vapor Conduit transformations for the 2024 version, since rogues already get mastery by default.
- Replaced nondetection with blinding smite
♦ Shroud of Mist
- Now has a minimum cost of half your PB.
- You can transform the Vapor Conduit as part of activating the shroud without expending charges.
- Added a few more features that integrate with the fog/mist to connect it deeper with the theme: change the radius of your fog/darkness and allow sneak attacks against targets within the same heavily obscured areas.
- Moved Vapor Conduit bonus to the 9th level feature.
- Moved Cantrip Sneak Attack to the 9th level feature.
♦ Flowing Fog
- Wording changes with the initial reaction-based transformation.
- Vapor Conduit Bonus moved here.
- Cantrip Sneak Attack changed to Vapor Strike. It adds your spellcasting ability modifier to the damage roll. Expending charges lets you use Sneak Attack if you meet the conditions.
♦ Mist Master
- Charge cost of 1st and 2nd-level spells are halved instead of free (for balance purposes).
- Hiding at the start of your turn now costs 3 charges.
