Changelog
♦ Esoteric Memories > Planesmind Conduit
- Removed the additional invocation, since the subclass by default already frees up any sort of armor invocation (like Armor of Shadows).
- Removed Knowledge of the Planes and folded it into the Planesmind Conduit.
- Removed the additional Arcana skill.
- Moved Esoteric Warrior as a Soulbound Shroud benefit.
♦ Soulbound Shroud
- Added a command word to don the armor. Avoid Silence spells!
- Planesmind Appraisal is now a Charisma saving throw. Also removed the Advantage part, to avoid design bloat and benefits- stacking, since it already has a wealth of benefits from two conduit memories.
- Esoteric Warrior now covers Charisma-based attacks, as well as counting any Planesmind-granted weapon as your pact weapon.
♦ Tenuous Partnership
- Added a new property called Memory Drive, which functions as your finisher, instead of needing an invocation for it.
♦ Esoteric Familiars
- You can change a familiar's form as a Magic action if you expend a spell slot.
- The Lens Bat and Sensing Snail can now store anything you see through the Arcane Eye spell.
♦ Conduit Aspects > Conduit Memories
- Remove weapon mastery, to avoid stepping on martial toes.
- Trigger Memory: Pinpoint Snipe no longer adds Disadvantage on the next attack, since the ability is already very strong.
- Renamed Joker to Wildcard, Luna to Occult, and Skull to Thanatos, since they're not necessarily common enough nouns. I'd rather not have Toei's lawyers look in my direction.
- Wildcard (formerly Joker) has better unarmed strike scaling
♦ Aspect Drive > Memory Drive
- The mechanics have been overhauled, since outlining each and every combination of effects makes for bad design bloat, and difficult to balance. Instead, each Anima Memory (formerly Anima Aspect) confers a specific effect, while each Soma Memory determines how the effect is delivered. Also no longer an invocation, but instead part of the level 6 feature.
♦ New Additions
- Detective background option.
- Adapting the subclass to 5e 2014.
