Howdy folks! Happy New Year! I hope 2025 was good to you, and may 2026 get you closer to your personal goals.

First off, thank you so much for being part of 2025. Last year saw some decent growth for the channel and the community, so seeing 2025 slowly recede on the horizon gives me an odd sense of melancholy. But now, we look toward the new year, and I’m already at a crossroads!

Today, I’ve got a poll on starting off 2026, a 26% discount, and a small update on Kamen Rider Ex-Aid!

So, I’ve been thinking of doing one of two things for the start of the year.

Aspiring to be your Hero

The first is a subclass inspired by Tojima Tanzaburo, from the recent anime Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider.

It’s a story where a bunch of Kamen Rider fans have to tangle with Shocker being in the “real world.” It’s a heartfelt story of passion and inspiration, and how fiction can make us aspire for greatness.

Personally, I think the grounded setting with some fantasy elements is great. The animation is simple, but the fights have some crazy intensity to them, which really sells the passion and determination of each character!

I already have a class in mind, with a few loose feature designs inspired by the series. I don’t want to spoil what class it’s for, but the features will be relying on how much your character can vibe their way into embodying their idol, gaining effects like inspiration for your allies or fear from your enemies.

An Alternate Artificer (For Everybody)

The second thing I want to do is release an alternate Artificer class.

My last attempt at designing a new class was a Bleach-inspired Reaper from 2022. I like to think my skills have grown quite a bit since then, so I want to take another crack at class design by making my own Artificer!

I already have some loose notes for a “gadgets and jury-rigging” style of features, letting you make stuff like grappling hook weapon attachments, or magnetic boots for climbing vertical surfaces.

I plan for it to be FREE, and released under Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0). My hope is that other folks can design and sell their own “artificer-like” subclasses using my new class.

For some context, CC BY 4.0 is a simple and very permissive license, which is great for community-made content that can be released for commercial purposes.

In case you're wondering why I'm doing this: the official open rules (the SRD) by WotC still excludes the official Artificer class. As far as my limited licensing knowledge is concerned, that means folks can't commercially release their own Artificer subclasses using the SRD. Until that changes, I’d rather build something people can use, build on, and publish for.

I'll probably name it something else to steer clear of any unwanted attention.

That means any Artificer-like content I release (including past releases) will be officially compatible for my own class. Any compatibility with WotC’s Artificer is… coincidental.

Can I See It Early?

If you wanna see either the Tojima subclass or the alternate artificer early, consider becoming a $5-tier member! It offers a bunch of perks like exclusive homebrew, invite-only Discord access, and your name in our videos!

So About That Discount…

Right! I made a poll right here where you can vote on which homebrew you wanna see first! The form has a 26% discount code upon submission, which you can use in our Ko-Fi shop! The poll will run until the 7th of January only, so I hope you get that discount quickly!

Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Subclasses?

A small update on future Ex-Aid content: I’ll be tallying the sales by January 31, so expect the first subclasses to come out around that time! If you haven’t seen it yet, we released a huge Kamen Rider Ex-Aid homebrew at the end of 2025. It’s got a bunch of stretch goals that will unlock character-inspired subclass videos I’ll release over the course of Q1 and Q2 2026!

As of the time of writing this, the homebrew is sitting at 24 sales, which means it's one sale away from unlocking Kamen Rider Lazer, and that much closer to Dan Kuroto!

Here’s to a Better Year

I try to avoid IRL news as best as I can, but I’d be remiss not to acknowledge how bad last year must’ve been to a lot of people. I genuinely hope 2026 is a better year for all of us. Take care of yourselves, and know that you’re a beacon of joy to a lot of people.

Until then, my wife and I hope you have a great year ahead!
