SIDE STEPPING TO OG Funimation DBZ to take a peek at Trunks's timeline and to get a good sense of where he comes from! Little extended episode for you all today!

Hell yes! I would love for you two to react to the funimation/faulconer version of certain scenes. It would be cool to compare the two and see which versions of each you prefer.

What I like doing anytime I watch anything DBZ pre-Kai, is put on the Japanese subtitles just so I can see how drastically Funimation changed lines and added some in to areas where there wasn’t any originally. It’s a good way to really scar yourself and ruin the original dub since it can get pretty ludicrous at times. 😂 (Don’t even get me started with the music). Gotta say, I am glad we’re past a lot of the bad dubisms of the past. I do wish Kai had just started from OG Dragon Ball and also included the specials but what are you gonna do.

Oh you're gonna love tomorrow's drop then 👀 - check the Patreon section in discord for a sneak peak!

that woulda been awesome. I'd love to see a definitive re-animation of DBZ in the future and with it's popularity it might not be out of the question!

My favorite special

GodUsopp

oh 2010 is when dbz kai came out, this special came out early 90s

Wally

Trunks transformation is still the saddest scene in dbz, the lighting, the music, his voice breaking and the scream...heartbreaking

C. Fushiguro

Yessss! I just saw it. Can’t wait. I’d also like to recommend Cooler’s Revenge (American soundtrack). The soundtrack in that is so good. And overall I think it’s one of the better movies from a story perspective.

Shadowmist909

The history of trunks reminds me of how much extra content big shonen series would get. Backstory filling Movie length OVA??? Heck Yeah!

TKOhhh

I knowwww. I kinda miss it. Like, yeah, we had a ton of filler… but we also had really thorough back stories and the like

Snazzyway

The background song of the intro to the special is made by Dream Theater called “Scene Six: Home”. Dream Theater in DB is one kickass choice that’s for sure.
