Alright, we have SO SO SO many comments on YouTube and even our Patreon asking for dub! I LOVE the support for the dub. So, we ask you guys to make the final decision. 🖤

The dub don't be adding that flare with the voice like episode 5 when he said "I AM ATOMIC"

Certain moments don't hit the same in dub, like episode 5.

I’ll say this, the Dub is one of the best I’ve heard from an anime. Nothing wrong with it aside from a few small moments. Like the “I Am Atomic” scene, there’s moments that hit a lot harder in the sub. Other than that, either is fine.

Sub, I don't even really have anything against a good dub. But eminence specifically the MC's voice acting is pretty much night and day. Dub Cid sounds the exact same as Cid and Shadow....and whatever else... Plus dub doesn't really do a good job of showing Cid's unhinged nature. And he's pretty much the most important part of the show lol. Rest of the side cast range from passable to Decent. A lot just end up sounding very robotic.

I'd much prefer you continue in sub but check out the dub occasionally for certain moments, which is what you've been doing since episode 1.

I like what you’ve been doing with listening to sub but also switching to dub for certain moments. I’ve watched both sub and dub, they’re both good. Sub just hits harder during the more important moments.

Can watch sub but rewatch some scenes in dub after? Like you did in episode 5

I wish I could enjoy Dubs like when I was a kid watching Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and older shows like that, but I haven't been able to enjoy Dubs for a good 30 years now. Once I switched over to Subs for a while, probably back when I started watching DBZ Subbed because that's all I could get, even the 'good' Dubs started to sound off to me compared to the Sub (including even shows like Cowboy Bebop), as if the VA's were at times speaking off pace to fit the dialogue in, or just reading the lines without enough actual acting going on. Some Dubs are definitely worth the watch over the Subs, like Black Lagoon where they have good VA's AND the dialogue is actually more fitting than the Sub, but having watched some of the Dub of Eminence in Shadow, this is not a show I would ever want to watch the Dub of. Even for reactors I really like are watching a show I want to see reacted to, if it's a Dub (with the exception of Black Lagoon), I'm out on that reaction.

Still definitely feel like the Dub is better but its obvious that the sub simps are always gonna win polls like this sadly. Even sadder when you realize that probably 90% or more of the people voting don't actually speak a lick of Japanese. Whatever the case, will still enjoy the reactions just won't be the same for me personally. Wish it wasn't the "cool" thing to do to hate on Dubs all the time

I definitely understand where you're coming from. I'm primarily a dub fan and can't really recognize emotion in voice acting for a language I don't understand, so sub is little better than muted audio for me. Even so, I personally voted sub despite liking the dub more (outside of a handful of scenes moments). For me, it comes down to consistency. They've already done six episodes of sub with select moments replayed in dub, so I'd prefer if they didn't change things up. If they had started in dub, I'd have voted for dub. But that's my point of view only.

while your opinion is yours and valid, saying dub is better is not an objective truth. The vast majority will always vote sub which is shown time and time again whenever this kind of thing gets polled. The dub fans make alot of noise so there presence is always strongly felt, but the silent majority prefers the original language. Me personally I hate anything dubbed to any language.

When it comes to this anime, I can hear more emotion with the sub than dub.
