Cell's name has been revealed. This is gonna be really good. I know for a fact that she is going to love the rest of the saga. I will admit, there's some flaws, but this is still a really good saga. The cell has to be one of the fan's favorite sagas. And believe me, Cell will so become your favorite villian. Just give it time, you'll see why. Btw, all the characters that were named that Cell has their energy: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, and King Cold. I won't reveal too much but the next episode will make a lot of sense. Love the reactions. Hope you guys have a good rest of your day.

Trevor thank you! You too! Glad you're enjoying the ride with us it's been too fun!

Act 2 begins… Finally, you’ve been introduced to Dameon Clarke’s Cell. Dragon Ball’s horror villain so-to-speak. The scene where Cell drinks the rich guy (hell of a thing to write out), I remember scaring the absolute shit out of me when I saw it the first time. I absolutely love the buildup to him and from here on, it’s honestly peak Dragon Ball.

dragon ball is kind of the only anime that doesnt do traditional arcs, everyone uses the phrase "saga" for dbz, sagas usually mean like a big piece of a story and the arcs are each segment of the story, so this is the android saga but cells arc. But ive heard "cell saga", "frieza saga"

Yes the Cell Saga has started

Shadowmist909

New foe stealing our heros signature techniques and horrifically draining civilians with his tail. Cell has definitely made an intense introduction.

This would be an interesting episode to compare with the Falconer score, as the themes used for Cell absorbing the man and Piccolo's power-up are pretty iconic. One of the things I appreciate about Cell as a villain is that he can be super threatening and creepy without being more powerful than the hero he's fighting. Piccolo at this point is much stronger than Cell, but Cell's introduction contains enough horror and mystery to make him an effective villain despite being at a significant power disadvantage. Most villains, no matter how well written and acted, still need to be much stronger than the heroes to maintain their threat level, and the moment a hero becomes stronger than them, they basically turn into jokes. Cell is the major exception to that rule in his introduction.

I'm pretty sure he pees out his nipples

oh we definitely plan to!

This is why Kai vs Z for a true Dragon Ball fan, Kai can never win. When Piccolo is getting absorbed the original show actually shows the military trying to intervene in the fight. That minute detail is actually so important because a lot of new fans always wondered where was the military. They did try & failed. That also show's you how frightening Cell's appearance was. To each's own as i always say. You have the right to watch you want to watch but Dbz Kai is certainly best if you're ONLY a casual fan. Kai is more accurate to the manga but for a massive fan like myself, both Kai & the original are worth watching.

TKOhhh

I think calling someone a "casual fan" for wanting to enjoy something closer to the original writing is a bit unfair. I (Taylor) definitely don't consider myself a casual fan as I've consumed pretty much every form of Dragon Ball media (besides Daima since we're saving it for a later reaction) and have re-read the manga more times than I can count. The military hasn't been relevant since Dragon Ball. Ever since they started flying and got the power to destroy planets there has never been a moment where I have caught myself going, "I wonder why the regular humans with regular guns and ammo aren't trying to do a bit more" We see instances in which people shoot guns (like at Android 17/18) and they obviously bounce off. Guns couldn't do anything against Raditz and we're so many leagues beyond that at this point. Toriyama didn't bother with adding the military because why would he? At this point there's nothing besides the Z fighters that can do anything against these galactic level threats. To be totally honest, I think that if a newer fan was wondering why the military didn't get involved then they themselves are a more casual fan.
