There is also an OVA for Tanya

For the scary movies, just get an infrared security camera to be the reaction

Re: Shotguns. SO in world war one America used the winchester 1895 (Aka The trench gun) The Germans objected, claiming unsuccessfully that it was a violation of the Hague or Geneva (I'm not sure which) convention and actually executing a few American soldiers over it. This has led to a pop culture myth that they are a violation of an international treaty on war. They are NOT. Modern militaries still use them for close quarters combat.

you guys missed that when Lieutenant Serebryakov shot Tanya and eye-patched guy her bullet is a golden one.. like a holy bullet. @10:45

The OVA is good fun, definitely worth a watch tbh

Danda

It was Hague I think, claiming it caused "unnecessary suffering" which was somewhat hypocritical considering the Germans were deploying flame throwers and poison gas at the time (Not the only ones mind you). Which is why the claim was rejected.

did i miss OP and ED reaction vid or is it not up?

Rongo

I forgot to mention this, but go back and listen to the 2 speaches Mary and Tanya make at the end in English.

Bruno Silva

48:34 the funniest part about her is her name, Mary Sioux but they say as Mary Sue 🤣

Wally

I think Taylor would love Killer Klowns from Outer Space and any of the cheesy 80s slasher flicks

That moment when the "france's" soldiers and the others leave from the port is basicly what happened in dunkirk during ww2 and this is what Tanya remembers where Germany stopped the attack and allowed like 300 000+ soldiers to escape to UK and come back to fight Germany.

I believe Operation Desert Pasta was a filler episode between season 1 and the movie. A little something to reacquaint people with the characters in case they need it. It's kinda funny but not crucial. Also as for what the middle card images mean, I think they're just zoom ins of various military equipment. Some have been tires and some have been like the top of a humvee etc

Taking the capital is such a naive misconception about war that people still have today. Germany, for example, was never realistically going to conquer the Soviet Union just because it got close to Moscow. People act like they almost won because they almost reached the capital, but that's not really how it works. The Soviets were already moving industry east and would have continued doing so while resisting. Germany still would've faced the same logistical nightmare, a two-front war, and the sheer scale of Soviet manpower and territory. That's not to say taking a capital isn't a massive strategic victory. It absolutely can be. It can damage morale, disrupt government functions, and sometimes lead to an overall victory. But a country doesn't automatically lose the moment its capital falls. And as for the symbolism, I thought that was pretty obvious. I'd consider that fairly basic media literacy, honestly. Not to sound like a reddit mod lol. Good for catching it still but it wasn't some insanely vague symbolism :p

Literacy is the functional understanding of a given topic. Specifically, it refers to the understanding of written words, but it can be used in conjunction with other subjects to refer to them instead. Media literacy is a superficially confusing term, as the default definition of literacy already implies media. Specifying 'media' as the subject places the media itself as the focus of the literacy, in place of the words therein. While literacy is the understanding of the words within a book, (a form of media,) media literacy is the understanding of the book itself, taking into consideration the words it contains, and understanding their underlying meaning within the book's context. In the context in which this matter was initially brought up; Almost everyone possesses visual literacy - the ability to identify the concepts within images. Tanya, an office, a window, a teacup. Beyond her visual literacy, Karlii demonstrates a far deeper understanding, employing symbolic literacy. She sees a message conveyed by the use of an empty cup, beyond what is literally conveyed by the image.

I have no sypathy for Anton. He survived insane encounter and instead of going to his family he went on personal crusade. Must've not mssed his daughter much... I also like how Rerugen started as "She's a demon" and ends with "She's our most reliable soldier" after they had their little talk.

Love this show, and love that you guys enjoyed it as much as you did.
