And thus concludes the first ever arc of dragonball Toriyama had no clue his series would take off like it did in the future and this arc is direct proof of that It’s simple, silly, adventure based, pervy, and as Toriyama coded as it gets. Now we begin a transition from a pure gag manga to a mixed gag and martial arts manga The slow turn in direction begins here with episode 14

This first arc was amusing. Bulma and Yamcha may not have gotten to use the dragon balls, but they've all to clearly gotten what they've wanted without them. Puar turning into a pair of giant scissors to stop Goku's rampage was a creative call by Yamcha. Now that Goku doesn't have a tail, he's going to be a lot more unassuming. That is until he shows off feats of great strength! Lol it's a shame that the city return trip with Bulma and the gang isn't going so well. But with Master Roshi looking for a walking partner, I guess all of our heroes are running into difficulties!

The only takeaway I got from this was, Bulma somehow scissored Goku, who got bored and went to sleep then, Bulma ends up with Yamcha of all people.
