Donna: On the Art-Side, a lot has been going on!I redesigned Luther to better fit the vision we have in mind for the game. We pulled a lot of inspiration from shonen protagonists and action/rpg main characters. He was a bit difficult to design because he needed to fit many criteria: He needed to look like a protag, look like a dragon, and also have some of that anime flair and personality. Phew! But we nailed it after several pages of explorations, and with time he'll be polished further. I'm pretty happy with how far he's come!!

We went through a lot of iterations to figure out what a dark dragon looks like in the monster setting...

We may even use some of the ideas above for later characters... Who knows! All I gotta say is I drew so many dragons LOL

Attached also is some environment concepts. We're going modular with the environment so that it can help save time and energy for us since we will have many rooms to set dress. It's pretty exciting to paint over the current level block outs! For the first zone we're making it look like castle ruins. Here's a breakdown of a pillar we can use to decorate all over.

There's more art to come as we do more updates!

Spike: My updates are a lot more dull LOL, basically starting december I wanted to finally start bringing the RPG to our dragon RPG. A lot of what we had on the game up to this point was still stuff from when we were prorotyping so.... I had to do a bunch of refactoring. Basically these last two months I have implemented the following

-Status effects (so we can burninate our enemies better)-Abilities (so we can permanently unlock better ways of burninanting our enemies)

It sounds kinda simple, but its been a ton of work! Things like the fire breathing, attack dashes and things like doors need to be compatible with the system, cuz like what's the fun if you can't upgrade and burninate everthing you see in the countryside? Okay I'm gonna drop that joke now, LOL.

Progress is going very well, just know that its likely to take me at least the rest of this month and at least a little of next month to have everything at a place where its stable again. ALSO, because speed is important, I'm also working on some tool to help me more easily design attacks (and their effects) and implement them in the game!

Good tooling have reduced the time it takes me to make a room of the game from a week, to like 3 in a day. I hope that with this I'll be able to create tons of interesting enemies very fast so our game can continue to grow quickly! Variety of enemies is very important after all :3

I'm gonna be working very hard to have a new build with luther's new design, more story and the start of the RPG system next month, please look forward to it!
