This is the end of an era. The final version of one of the longest and strangest experiments on content creation Donna and I ever embarked on. Now that its pretty much all over, I feel like I can finally talk about it a little bit.

We've ALWAYS wanted to make videos. Pretty much a month or two after we started experimenting with comics, almost 5 years ago, we were already doing some secret experiments. It wasn't till about a year later that we started a YT channel and started putting up some original video animations!

The goal was simple, it was a new plaform where we could tell our stories, something where we could have a little more wiggle room than the 4-panel format that we always use, lol. We were hoping to maybe release a new video a month and start experimenting with larger stories in our setting!

But things turned hectic immediately. Doing original animated videos was WAAAAY more work than we anticipated, which turned our release schedule into chaos. But we also really struggled to garner much interest! It became frustrating to put so much work into videos over several months to not even see them get a thousand views. Especially when posting our regular comics on the community tab was getting 5 times the views on a weekly basis.

I want to be a great storyteller! Seeing myself struggle so much with a second format was something I deeply struggled with for a long time, for almost 2 years I kept doing all I could to get the animated videos to work. With little to no success.

But you all know how things turned out! About a year and a half ago we started doing non-animated versions of out comics that just focused on good voice acting, and I started working on more 2-part and 3-part stories! Sacrificing animation was initially a bitter pill to swallow for me, but accepting that there was only a limited amount of time that donna and I had to give on any given month and focusing more on the storytelling at the core of all we want to make, created something we were happy with, something we've been able to release at a good pace, and something that you are all enjoying!

This video is a bit of a swan song from Donna and I, a hybrid of the old ways we were doing videos and the new things we've learned over these last two years. Both a celebration of how far we've gotten and a reminder that improvement doesn't always come fast or easily.

Ultimately I think the effects of this change will be barely noticeable, but such is the nature of improvement, isn't it?

And now to new experiments and more exciting stories! And again thanks so much for helping make all this possible! You rock!
