I hate to harp(er, Grace) on this but I think Geoff fundamentally misunderstands the Patreon model. This isn't the Geoff and Riley Patreon where we're mostly paying to support them, I'm paying to listen to this podcast as it's the only way to do so. When an episode was low effort and bad on the headgum podcast I wasn't incentivized monetarily to unsub, it was free. I'm sorry but you can't complain about losing Patreon subs and also not bother to show up for the podcast man. I appreciate that Geoff is enjoying working on other things like improv and the Internet talk show, which sounds fun, but I pay for this show not those.

I wouldn't mind all the sports talk if it was even like a little bit funny. At least on that's funny it seems the joke is that the audience hates when they talk sports, which isn't really funny for the audience. I get that the joke is we all hate the show all the time but Geoff knows that's not actually true right?

I remember Geoff said they’d be able to do bigger and better things with the patreon funds. I haven’t seen that at all. If anything there’s been less effort. Seriously Geoff even said he had ideas. Okay earnest message to Geoff because he spoke about the state of the podcast. Geoff, perhaps no one else will agree with this, but we all loved the Headgum Podcast for a reason. It was you in a room being batshit crazy. Throwing stuff against the wall and seeing what sticks. Trying new stuff every week. We live with the weeks where it’s same old-same old, but those episodes aren’t necessarily fan favs. Rice songs, game show parodies, segments, special guests, thirty people in a room at once on a podcast things are what makes the show so special and unique. Listening to Geoff be earnest with Billy, Amir and Will would be interesting, or him screaming at them. But kind of grumpy conversations might get old. I love you guys and will always support whatever you do, and also understand you guys are extremely busy with other work and life, but there is a vibe I feel I’ve been missing for a minute

gotta chime in: it’s frankly insulting/funny to hear that you think listeners unconditionally enjoy and will continue paying for the show no matter its quality or the effort put in. sounds crazy but i like it when things are good actually. the mess caused by a bad or ill-thought-out segment will always be better than low energy jeb (geobb) waxing. especially so when we’re literally paying you and when we’ve been sold on the promise of bigger and better things thrice over (og patreon launch, launch of j&a studios, launch of the new show). that’s funny that’s funny that’s funny

I'm an OG Ace & Jocelyn fan and dont give af abt whoever Goeff is (no offense, he's just not ace and/or Jocelyn), and posts like this just clog the feed. Okay I totally agree with all the comments about grumpy boring convo BUT also I gotta say I didn't notice that much when watching because as a casual, I appreciate when other casuals speak up on such matters. This is what it looks like to say basketball is your favorite sport and yet still struggle to remember that the game is on. Geoff is the guy who comments on the commercials during a break because there's awkward dead air in the room. Anyway, GO KNICKS! Amir & Grace get to New York NOW challenge. Maybe u can still make it in time for finals?

The show's beginning to jump the carp, man. I'd borderline encourage you to simply end the podcast if you can't start doing some in-person records. Ending fan favourite segments to create some separation from the HGPod is a good idea but you have to actually ... y'know ... replace them with something. The performance art of HGPod being "a podcast about a terrible podcast" worked under the umbrella of an actual network, especially when you had regular guests, but divorced from that context it all kinda falls apart. Geoff's funny and charismatic enough to carry a show, but a little direction would go along way to giving it some momentum. How about a 90-minute Geoffardy every month with (just a little) production value and a rotating lineup of guests? Geoff for sure has enough alt-comedy friends to keep things interesting (assuming he's not too embarrassed to have them on). I'd take that a over a half-hearted weekly pod any day.

Egg refrigeration has nothing to do with vaccinations (egg colors even less so) but we just wash eggs as part of the process in the US which removes the mucosal coating and makes the inner egg more susceptible to bacterial intrusion. Eggs are different colors based on breed of chicken, nothing else.
