a friend from north london cancelled plans this weekend because they needed to celebrate the football. this patreon has clearly polluted my mind as my first response was, “oh! you’re celebrating tottenham’s narrowly-avoided relegation?” (anyway it’s funny to hear people say football scores by saying “two-nothing” or “three-zero”. do y’all nae have “nil” in the US?)

Well I know what nil(l) means but no it’s not typically in our/USA vocabulary. Also y’all is only in the south and I hadn’t seen nae be used in modern English (it’s even underlined red as I type)
