What an odd comment to make...

a star is storm

i know this video is old as hell but i’m here to let streeter know that “nice hat, no-hat” is (probably) the simpsons!! it’s a nelson thing (e.g. “way to breathe, no-breath” in bart sells his soul)

Edwin Taylor

These videos are great! Love seeing the old crew back together again, and getting the little bits of BTS info.

Do you think you guys could react to “traffic” that one is hilarious

LUNCH CONVERSATION IS A GEM AND NEVER FAILS TO MAKE ME LAUGH. I still yell "boiling hot spum" with specific friends. I think the general consensus for that episode is positive and will stand-by the joke followed by silence trope you guys have, it's always relatable to me

Anthony Cooper

The gag where Streeter masturbates in the office originates from the video "Jake and Amir: YouTube", where Amir harrasses Kevin for being on YouTube at work even though that's his job. Just in case anyone was wondering.

Anthony Cooper

Then you see him actually masturbating in the background in "Jake and Amir: Vegan".

Sammy

I like how Streeter made up the "Eater" part (Amir actually says "Streeter Piefell"). Streeter inadvertently made it a better line.

I’m a pretty PC dude, but honestly, you guys never really went well and above over the top into “that was fucked up and not funny” territory as far as I’m concerned. Lunch Conversations is one of my favorite forgotten gems. The sheer absurdity of taking a goof and turning it into this deep, romantic, incredibly sexually explicit comment is just hysterical. And the fact that the reaction is just anger makes it even more funny. As far as most of us are concerned, you guys really don’t have a bad episode. You’re way too harsh on yourselves. Jake and Amir is easily, hands down, my favorite thing to watch.

Streeter’s character’s name in Table Read 2 is also Eater Pie-Fell

Sammy

Haha forgot about that, nice catch

Sammy

Agreed, they're claiming the silence thing is a crutch, but I think it really highlights their acting and editing abilities. The tension builds really nicely through their facial expressions, and Jake repeating "boiling hot spum" at the end always kills me

Nicky

I think the joke Streeter was thinking of (“Nice hat, no hat”) is from The Simpsons. The line, “Way to breathe, no breath.”

wHeRe’S tHe EpL pOd

Dylan Forbes

The first instance of "bad ___, bad you" is from the episode "Santa" way back in 2009. So no, this isn't the first one.

Rikard Ström

Isn't the "nice car, no x" thing that Streeter was talking about from Hardly Working? The one called Step Dad when Pat's cool step dad brings him pizzas? I think David says something like "nice lunch, no lunch"

Jake B

STREETER!!!

Matty

Aw man they paused in the middle of my favorite line that wraps up both jokes, "I killed a child? Well you killed a FRANCHISE."😂😂

Brandon O'Hara

If you watch after the credits it shows in the finale that Streeter is auditioning for the role of Eater Piefell.

Brandon O'Hara

Great Episode, I hope they bring on more supporting cast members like Pat, Brian and Sarah.

Mike Woodward

Fun episode, reminded me of old collegehumor days. Y'all gotta get Pat Cassels on an episode!

Fran Kano

Going to the patreon? Nah, going to the patreon high.

Jeremiah N

God damn Jake is hot

joewearsprada

Notice how the chairs are a perfect size for the chipmunk but way too short for the human beans!

Sidney Buttrill

Oof Streeter looking worn out from fatherhood and SNL life

Rhys

I'm one of those assholes who still calls him Streeter Piefell

Jeremiah N

There are times in some of the first episodes where Jake does stuff like calling Amir a "fucking retard", which definitely has not aged well. But otherwise I agree that there's really nothing Jake and Amir did that's really crossing a line.

Joash Charles

I saw my name at the end credits for the first time! what a rush!

Mohamed Mobarak

I actually liked the lunch conversation episode.

2026-09-26 20:00 I thought Streeter was being mean at the beginning for saying he never actually watched J&A, but then I remembered that Amir once told an entire crowd of people to not laugh at Streeter's jokes during a stand up set. Then I realized that Streeter should straight up roast that diva bitch every time he opens his mouth.

Carps

you should use that trumpet part of the L&H theme more often

PogieJoe

Yeah same here, Nicholas. I think most of the jokes still work under the humor of "this is a terrible person saying a terrible thing at the worst possible time to say it and they deserve to be shamed." I think the only one that genuinely unsettles me is the one where Ben Schwartz sucks off Jake. I remember thinking it hilarious at the time, but now it really does just feel like watching an assault, particularly with how upset Jake is after it.

PogieJoe

I'm amazed at the encyclopedic knowledge of some J&A fans!

PogieJoe

You really think so? I don't think it looks like he aged a day!

Aaron Yang

I think the "killed an innocent child" joke was a callback to the "Hardly Working: Ghost Stories" sketch from way back at the first office!

Goni Matzliach

Hey DJ shmumu I hate to take it from you but you didn't invent the word spum... Urban dictionary can trace it back as far as 2003

Justin Z

I really wish "woke"-ness wasn't killing comedy. These aren't problematic, people just don't understand the difference between the content of the joke and the target of the joke. And being offended has some kind of weird social currency. Sad times for comedy.

Emma Kinnison

I went to Lang and I would be so pissed if you taught a class there now that I've graduated. Also I think of comedy as an important vehicle for discussion and learning. I don't think it should be shocking and offensive just for the sake of it, but dark humor is an important part of humanity... Can you tell I was a liberal arts major?

I think what they were going for was this: Two straight men having a conversation where they jokingly imagine what kind of man they would date if they were so inclined. Amir then comes out with an incredibly vulgar sexual statement with all the seriousness of a doctor revealing a patients death to their family. It pretty much works however I feel they could have done it better, they shouldn't have had Jake and Streeter speaking in such sexual terms to begin with, instead perhaps just about the appearance and attitudes of the imaginary boyfriends, contrasting more with Amir's declaration of spum desire. Still got a big laugh out of me

I remember watching this the moment it came out in 2013 and I laughed so hard that soy sauce was streaming out my tear ducts so fuck you Jake, Amir and Eater! Lunch Conversations deserves an A+

Mark II

At work might I add

James Chapman

I love this one. Boiling Hot Spum!

Matt Lorenzo

All these years I actually thought his name was Mike Fink.

Tyler

Lunch Conversation is hilarious and it's perfect to have the silence the way you did.

Sarah Mahoney

Streeter is just as hilarious and handsome as ever!

Sucks that they wasted these classic episodes with someone as dismissive and uninterested as Streeter. Rewatch them again please, just you two!
