William Hinrichs

Amir going on a rant about his views on struggling feeling confident in his identity is maybe one of only times in-univetse we see the amir character express genuine embarrassment or shyness when expressing an opinion. Truly one of the character's most human moments. I think the thing that sold it most was Amir's acing. The way he averted his gaze and changed his tones/dropped his voice when expressing an opinion made it seem real and vulnerable which is SUCH a departure from his normal character. There are some funny lines in this sketch, but I just love the incredibly sharp departure from character. Maybe one of the reasons I love it is Jake's character seems unable to engage with the genuineness? Like, it's funny to me that Jake has his question directly answered without craziness or sarcasm and he just doesn't know what to do with it or realizes he doesn't want Amir to be normal, he wants to always be the sane one and he's baffled by Amir's ability to not be crazy

Quinn

So does the FTC. These videos might actually be illegal nowadays

Treskatay

you guys would have got in some real HOT WATER for doing that these days. specifically, new Dasani brand Hot Water.

Treskatay

and he was also in the one where they're watching soccer

Nathaniel Vazquez

I remember watching these episodes and loving them regardless of the spotify mentions, it didnt feel too forced like most productions paid by ads do😂

Cely Torres

NY vs LA was a better ad for carrots than for spotify. I actually got up out of bed to grab myself a bag of babies after watching this

Valter

What are you guys gonna do with the really long multi-parters, like Miami?

Ashley Jamieson

Really hope they do the costumes episodes for Halloween. Some of the funniest jokes in the series.

Matt Henderson

Jake and I once did a quiz that told us what Sex in the City characters we are, so don't think you're in any way special or unique

Mikhail Shevchenko

By the time the third spotify episode came around it almost felt like it was a quirk of amir that he was just into spotify for no reason. That being said, the dj shmumu was the best of the bunch.

J-Bru

I've seen both of these countless times and never realized they were branded content. I've been duped!

Alex Palumbo

This reminds me that Spotify is actually pretty chill and I think I need premium.

JVLN

"You're mispronouncing the bean you think you are" has always been one of my favorite J&A lines ever

Odin Blaine

Spotify is just such a huge app and one that everyone uses so I did not realize it was branded content until now. "Personality Quiz" is the most obvious one but there's so much going on, I never really caught that.

Bryce Smith

Every time these are posted I never want them to end by the end of the video. I always want there to be some extra third episode not in the title or something. Love em, Great job.

Dylan Forbes

Anyone know what the video is where Jake yells about Nestea?

Jay

You guys should do Tongue. It was so divisive, what was the thought behind that?

Corned Beef

Need more pattern shirt Jake

DaveyWavey

I Spotifyed the Spotify ad

Ron Dear

I'm definitely a Leema! I liked personality quiz slightly more. I dind't mind that these were branded at all, and honestly I never knew the DJ Business episode was branded. The spotify piece made perfect sense in that script.

Ed

✌️

Corned Beef

Beans Baked into every answer did not get enough credit. These dudes are sharp. Humor-wise.

Leovince Olanda

I couldn't stop watching 15:18 because they both scratched their faces at the same time and it was almost poetic

Zeke Faust

Pat might be the person with the most Jake and Amir appearances outside you guys. You gotta get him on the show!

Joash Charles

honestly, I never noticed the Spotify plugs at all. however, I do now use Spotify. I am a sheep.

daver

I press play on Spotify and I faint, Mickey!

randyy1

Paul was in Table Read 1 and 2, but ok.

Oscar Lopez

I texted that bean quiz to some of my friends and people thought I was funny for it. Personality quiz is an A for me.

Bryce Smith

I think you guys are forgetting the Shick Hydro ad episode. So clearly branded content that there is no intro and you say Schick Hydro loudly TWICE and it's still funny.

Thomas Birch

Paul was in a couple episodes, probably most notably the two Table Read episodes. You even made fun of him in the very last part of the finale.

Justin Z

Ironically, Amir was pronouncing "Lima" correctly.

Brent Simmons

In NY vs. LA I think Amir is demonstrating that he considers all of Jake's new LA friends to be significant others, as he quite effectively makes them all feel unwelcome and boxes them out of the conversation

Brice Beakley

Seen both of these like 10 times and have never noticed the Spotify plug

stephen mcmillen

i watched these so many times over the past whatever years and never knew there was plugs. haha

DJ Roos

I feel like these plugs aren't as noticeable than others, at least now because spotify is so ubiquitous that people say that they are listening to spotify instead of listening to music.

Shelby (Round the Mountain) Hill

I think I’ve gotten to a point where I’m happy that creators have gotten sponsored at all, especially if they’re smaller youtube channels or something. Though, I do think there’s something that feels more “honest” in sponsored content that’s like “Oh and here’s an ad-read!” Product placement does feel like someone tried to hide meds in my applesauce but I just would’ve taken them normally. That said, the second episode was better but the first one hid the sponsorship better. Probably because the joke still worked if Amir was just listening to a playlist and not specifically a Spotify playlist

Michael Arboleda

I saw these when they were released and never noticed it was a Spotify plug-in. I thought it was you guys just referencing a popular technology (like u guys did facebook, instagram, snapchat, tinder, iphone, ect)

CHILLDUDE22

It literally never occurred to me that they were branded, the inclusion sounded natural enough to me. Besides I've always liked product placement so long as its subtle, it makes the world feel more real and believable when people reference popular brands over generic counterparts
