If the target size is 4+, but you are in 'Close Range', ie the first rangeband for that gun, there is a -2 modifier to hit, so the 4+ to hit becomes as 2+ to hit.

Reminds me of when I made a Naval game on paper in school where you had to get a pencil and close your eyes wile randomly taping a pencil over a ship to see if you get a hit.
